Proof that Vegetable Seed = Earth

Proof that Vegetable Seed = Earth

For this proof, there are a few things that we have to accept:

    1) Crystals
Crystals are obviously of the same element that their name indicates (i.e. Fire crystal = fire element, ice crystal = ice element, etc.). When growing crystals, it is impossible to get crystals of the element of the seed.

    2) Colored Rocks
The colored rocks are the same element as their color (i.e. red = fire, yellow = earth, green = wind, etc.). These can occur when using the appropriate crystal or when using none (element of the seed affects this).

    3) Rock Salt
Rock Salt is a possibility when you feed a seed a crystal that is strong against the element that the seed is or when you don't feed the seed at all.

    Facts:
    • If you don’t feed vegetable seeds any crystal during growth, it is possible for them to produce Yellow Rocks.
    • You can't grow earth crystals using vegetable seeds.
    • Vegetable seeds can only produce rock salt if you feed them Wind Crystals or nothing.

Based on these observations, Vegetable Seeds are indeed Earth based.

    • You can't grow water crystals using fruit seeds.
    • Fruit seeds can only produce rock salt if you feed them Lightning Crystals or nothing.

Based on these observations, Fruit Seeds are indeed Water based.

Looking really useful! Perhaps at the end of the day, when enough info has been posted here, you can make a summary post (like the crafting one Aurik) and get the Moderators to sticky it.

I would think it should go into the Crafting thread though.

Good idea, I'll move this to the crafting board, and when he has a bit more info in the thread I can sticky it.

Thanks Lordwafik and tymora, I definately have more information I want to get up here. Of course, feedback from anyone would be much appreciated.

Attempt at proving Wildgrass Seeds are Earth Based.

    1) Crystals
Crystals are obviously of the same element that their name indicates (i.e. Fire crystal = fire element, ice crystal = ice element, etc.). When growing crystals, it is impossible to get crystals of the element of the seed.

    3) Rock Salt
Rock Salt is a possibility when you feed a seed a crystal that is strong against the element that the seed is or when you don't feed the seed at all.

    ----------------------

    Observations:
    1) Rock Salt is only possible when you feed wildgrass seeds Wind Crystals. (Wind is strong vs. Earth). pass
    2) The only crystal that can't be grown with wildgrass seeds is Earth. pass
    3) The only colored rocks that seem to be able to be grown with wildgrass seeds are Black Rocks, White Rocks and Yellow Rocks. When feeding no crystal to wildgrass seeds, Yellow Rocks are not possible but little worms are instead. This is a strange result compared to the other seeds. indeterminate

    Conclusion:
I believe Wildgrass Seeds are at least Earth Based. At this point, there is a possibility that another element would be present as well. If this is the case, it is likely Dark, since that is the Element that pairs with Earth.

I haven't done extensive testing on tarutaru rice with wooden flowerpots. I'll have to look into that.

I have done quite a few tests with wildgrass seeds and I don't remember seeing clear, red or blue rocks. Do you think you have any information on what combination of pot/crystal these happened with?

In my experience and research, the colored rock depends on the pot/seed/crystal combinations and doesn't have anything to do with day. You might be thinking of mining, where if you get a colored rock, it will be the same as the day.

I've only seen Vomp carrots produced when feeding Earth crystals to wildgrass seeds. For Zegham carrots, it's Ice crystals. Water crystals give azouph greens, sharug greens, gysahl greens, tokopekko wildgrass or fire crystals.

Do you mean the crystal and day fed or harvested?

Well, if possible, I'd love to see actuall results of the red, blue or clear colored rocks grown with Wildgrass Seeds. Just to confirm though, you're saying if you feed a crystal to wildgrass seeds and harvest it on the day of the crystal, you can get the colored rock that matches?

Actually, I've never seen a rock get harvested that matched the day (unless it happens to coincide with the seed/crystal result). I'm going to try to replicate this on my next batch of seeds when I start them on the weekend. If you know the combinations of pot/seed/crystal/day this happened on, that would be helpful.

I've actually been gardening for quite a while, but I haven't been trying to expand my knowledge base until a little while ago. Actually, I think we got confused on what we were both saying. I just looked at all of my data and I see results that match what you've said.

The main part that I was trying to emphasize with the colored rocks is that they are possible when you don't feed any crystal to the seed. In this case the element of the seed will be the element of the rock.

Also, I'm still not convinced that the day has anything to do with the rocks for gardening. The crystal definately does though. I'll still do some tests on this with recipies soon. I know that grain seeds + fire crystal gives tarutaru rice, little worms, ice crystals or a red rock. If the day is a factor in it, I would think that I wouldn't be able to get red rocks except on firesday.

There's one thing I've been wondering for a while : Is there a way to speed up the plants' growing process ? I mean shorten the delay between planting, feeding and harvesting...is that possible, from your experience ?

(if you think it's a little bit too much out of topic, tell me and I'll delete the post from this thread and create a new specific thread)

I was ready to quit gardening (yet again), but this thread made me feel like giving it another try. I googled that Pikko's Pots site to see what I could grow...

Pikko saw another-wother chart like the ones below and was thinking, "What a greataru idea!!" So Pikko has done the same here.
    That site-witey makes Thistle-whistle want to slitty-witty his wristy-wistys.

No, that's a perfectly valid topic as I'm trying to improve knowledge about all aspects of gardening.

That said, the only way I know to speed up the whole process is to feed the crystal as soon as possible. The sooner you feed the crystal, the sooner the plant moves on to the next phase. Say for example a plant has a 24 hour window in which you can feed it. If you feed it on the 4th hour, the feeding phase stops and it continues growing. This means you just saved 20 hours overall.

Mogenhancement: Gardening may slow growth down but I'm not certain. It does allow you more time between examinations before a plant dies.

Yeah, taruspeak can get quite annoying. I am planning on putting all the possible results that I have up but I haven't decided on whether to setup a site myself or just post them here. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I had figured the "feed as soon as possible" thing, but was hoping for more. Thanks though

The other thing that I know is that feeding certain crystals can make things grow faster, but that doesn't really help depending on what you are trying to grow.

By better results do you mean more items per harvest? e.g.: feeding a water crystal to a wildgrass seed has the possibility to produce 6-16 Tokopekko Wildgrass. So by having the moghancement:gardening your harvest would produce higher yields?
