Hmmm, I knew the people passing out literature had to be X feet away, but didn't know anything about that including stickers/clothing. In the past I've seen tons of stickers in the schools we vote at. I'm guessing this time around they're making it a lot more well known here as Virginia is rather a battle right now.

I'm kinda pissed. I wanted to vote here in NY, but I guess I'm registered to vote in Florida...where I used to live. Now it's too late to send in an absentee vote for FL where my vote might actually matter.

I volunteered at a polling place a few years back and we had to do a 3 hour training for it a few weeks before. iirc, you were not allowed to have political messages of any kind within 300 feet of the polling place. We had the right to not let you vote until you cover or remove it too or something to that effect. Being in california, people even weren't allowed to wear Terminator shirts >.>

Absentee simply means you werent in person to cast your vote. So you mail it in. Why on Earth would you think that they dont count unless the election is close?

My particular polling location got media called on us when I did it ;\. Apparently, only the senile, obscenely obese, and/or drug addicts volunteer for this stuff. Me, my classmate, and some 400 lbs woman were on time and ready to go by 7 am, but the 2 married druggies that actually had the ballot box and materials didn't show until 7:45. Needless to say we had a lot of pissed people for 45 minutes and the news did show up for a little ;\

Fucking meth heads. By the end of the day I had a 103 degree fever too. Amazing how everyone takes multiple 2 hour breaks but I never get 1 and am forced to do everything.
