Don't get me wrong; I like maintenance since it means I'll get an easy shot at Bloodsucker for my Bloodbead Ring; but if the maintenance is only on POL and the Launch Client, why does that have to shutdown FFXI as well?

With how integrated into POL FFXI is, it's probably a critical component that'd cause FFXI to not play nice if accessed while playing. Kind of stupid overall, but they built it how they built it.

On the subject of JPs, it's fucking weird how they get up at like 7am and do shit (I notice because on weekends I play until 1am)... it's almost like they don't need to sleep (or sleep until later). I mean, I enjoy my lay ins, I would never want to get up at 7am.

I really wish they'd just do away with POL altogether, it's such an annoyance to me. You have to confirm everything you do within POL like six times, and if you (heaven forbid) d/c, you spend forever sifting back through POL and its "Exit this area?" BS to get back in game.

If only I could just click on something on my desktop and end straight into the Accept/Decline screen. I'd love SE for it forever.

From what I understand, SE feels the same way. The problem is that POL is so deeply ingrained into the billing process that they can't do away with it for FFXI. Their new MMO won't be using POL from what I've heard.

One would think since this is occuring during the peak of the lolRMTtellspam that it's for that, but what can they really do about it?

Realistically, I think it could be the Nyzul issues or somthing about 3rd pt tool detection.
