i always use the sticks, the sixaxis is ass for most games.

Yeah im not a big fan of sixaxis at all, for anything... anyway, yeah I was playing on PS3 and ill try again later, watching football.
W/ the sixaxis it's hella hard, I kept dying too and never mind the other maneuvers... But yeah, it was a matter of pride! Kinda sucks since uncharted/burnout paradise is really responsive.
Edit: Yeah, no chance I'll be buying this.
Tried the PS3 demo. It's so much different from other games.
The full 1st Person experience is so weird at first. Combos are a bit overwhelming early on too. Might pick this one up, if only because of the unique gaming experience.
If the rest of the game manages to hold up as well as the demo did while keeping things interesting as you move along (as well as being of a decent lenght), I'm going to pick this up. I just love the concept of 1st-person acrobatic platforming. The game kept feeling like those Matrix-getaway scenes.
Controls felt really akward first time, but after a few more tries I'm really impressed at how the game flows, even when you're being totally cack-handed with the controller.
The bumber jumping confused me at first. Id start hitting right bumper to jump and instead swing around and get shot. Other than that it was pretty interesting. I don't think Id buy it because I dont see how long they can make a game like this, but it was ok.
Tried it out on PS3. Controls are pretty simple and game play is overall fun.
It felt a bit strange only being able to do things in 1st person at first but after a while it got pretty addicting.
</3 the sixaxis balancing parts though. :X
Just turn off the motion-control as it just breaks the pacing of the game when you hit those balancing-act sections.
Playing this a second time now, and it's a buttload more fun when you know what to do, zipping about the place with unlimited endurance, like in every action movie.
I really liked that chopper part when your hanging from it. Too bad its being released so soon or I would pick it up.
Indeed. There a quite a few games I still want to pick up and this will not be at the top of that list. Bad timing.
Honestly, this probably would have made a good late Spring or Summer release. I tried the PS3 demo and had some fun with it, though I do agree that this will likely end up being a very short and shallow game.
I really do enjoy the strict FPS visual style; it's clearly modelled on Breakdown. I don't blame people for not knowing Breakdown, but it was a pretty interesting FPS/fighting game where your view was completely locked to your character's head/eye movement. Do a roundhouse kick and your view spins around, get punched in the face with a left cross and your view shifts off to your own right as your head absorbs the blow. It was really neat for immersion, but I read it caused some people to get queasy playing it.
it's an awesome demo and has a really good engine.. i just cant see it being a buy at this part of the year all things considering... definately a rental from me too :[
I will say that they've done a very good job at capturing the movement and fluidity of free running. Having done something like free running back when I was in high school and being mischievous with friends before we could drink, I can say with only the tiniest bit of experience that they have gone to some lengths to capture the physical demands of free running.
Picked up a copy in town today and played through about 30min, it really sucks you in and the "fuckfuckfuck" moments really flow.
Case in point: Sprinting from one roof to another only to end up sliding down the side of a huge building all the while getting shot at by a chopper whilst praying you time your jump at the bottom right to clear the huge ass gap to the next rooftop.
The first "Big" jump is pretty mind-blowing too, you sort of turn a corner and think "I have to jump THAT!? The hell?"
Pretty satisfied with my purchase, hoping it's a decently long game, but with the level of immersion you get and all the alternate routes it should hold up nicely.
Oh, and the PS3 version comes with Trophies out of the box if that sort of thing motivates your "360 or PS3?" purchase.
