Avesta did it once again

According to my friend that reads Avesta's blog, over the course of the past few weeks he's also solo'd 8/8 SCNMs in both Beadeaux [S] and La Vaule [S].

Honestly, soloing sky triggers seems to be a more impressive feat than those. Once you can get them into the water to avoid links, they're not exactly difficult fights.

i was /nin and blm was there to speed up kill. with shell, scattershell isn't life-threatening, the only thing is that can be dangerous is the bind ws. but i find faust to be more dangerous than anything in lavaule

i can see doing that in La Vaule, but 8/8 in Bead is impressive. Just the sheer number of links there had to make that pretty stressful.

I thought Avesta played on PS2?

he used to but if you watch that vid, it's in pc format and it's windower macros he's using. Not belittling or anything, I've never done that stuff, but it does take some of the challenge out of it.

why his menus pop up so fast? using a controller makes it go fast like that? because on keyboard doesnt go like that at all..

or that just because of jpn ffxi? if is that i want to use jpn ffxi too =/

On a controller, you press R2 or L2 which instantly makes the window pop up, and then you scroll over to the macro and select it. It looks like he's using a controller while playing on PC. I don't know if he's necessarily using Windower macros, because from glancing quickly at the video it seems like any time more than 6 actions take place, he pressed 2 macros. Although admittedly I didn't look extremely carefully or anything.

It's the other way around honestly. I've solo'd most of the Beadeaux [S] NM's and there's a safe spot close to each of them. The only one you need to kite throughout the whole fight is the one that throws tubes at you and there's plenty of room behind the rocks he spawns near. On the other hand the La Vaule [S] Orc NM's all require flee to pull solo, and they often lose aggro before you can get them where you want them. I'm only 1/4 on pulling Coinbiter solo because either he loses aggro before I can get to safety, or a smilodon stays on me and I have to give up on the NM.

there is no speeding up on this vid, using controller on ps2 is actually fast like that, using on pc probably is too since its clear that avesta is on pc because of the graphics. He could be on xbox360 too.

I know im going to buy a controller for soloing on rdm, beating faust/seiryu is hard enough to want this, would make it a lot more easier if the menus popped up so fast.

Wonder which equip hes using, more than once he took 2 hits and stoneskin was still up.

He seems to paralyze2 it, but is he using slow? i didnt see it, but suzaku was hitting so slow it seemed.


ps: someone told me once that avesta is a girl, is that true?

He's casting slow not paralyze, and he's using damage reduction/barfira/mdb mix sets depending on where he is and what's going on.
Does anyone who can read it/his blog see a mention of why he isn't using poison2?

poison2 is hard to land on him, hes probably not casting to save mp, takes more than a few tries to stick in it sometimes.

i saw hes uses barfira gear too, he doesnt wear dalm for mdb, he wears something else, do you know what is it?

Maybe it's hard to get it to stick and he didn't want to waste mp? Other than that, no idea.

Probably Coral Scale Mail +1, pretty sure he uses it for Big Bomb as well. It'll be an MDB set rather than a fire resist set; there's not much point in a solo RDM trying to resist nukes since they lack a WHM's Barspell and a BRD's Carol.

Kirin runs out of MP after like 1hr 30min. Whoever said avesta was using windower macros is a real tard. He's just fast at pressing ps2 macros.

cogtooth seems to have a little less hp than the other nms in the zones (thunder4 does like 4%, on other nms its like 2ish%), it takes about 30min with a blm helping, i'd say about 65min+ without. i usually sac him to the front pathway (sometimes if i'm lucky, i don't need to die) and then i just kite along the pathway. the only time i ever get hit is when i go in to reapply dot, or when i turn back around. but i can usually take 2-3 flame/hydro ws per stoneskin.

During his fight with Seiryu he spent a lot of MP casting Poison 2 on Seiryu.

Saying that, it seems Seiryu had TP Regen but Suzaku doesn't ... ? Seiryu spams TP moves quite frequently... in comparison to this video's Suzaku who hardly used much (I skimmed through the vid though)
