[Asura] Infusion Endgame LS looking for members

We're a small, low-man (aiming for a final roster of not more than 24) endgame shell based in NA time (CST) on Asura, and we do just about everything except for Kings/HNMs. Many members of this shell have come from longtime HNM shells and are fundamentally tired of basing game play around a 21-24h window (or worse). We've been there, done that, and choose to focus on other things now.

We like to do things in small numbers for several reasons:

It's flat out more fun!
Gives you a great sense of accomplishment
It's a test of your skill instead of a numbers game
You're given a chance to stand out with respect to your ability
Effectively ups the rate that people get geared with significantly less numbers
Speeds up trigger farming and junk to get to the good stuff faster.

Stuff we do/will do within the linkshell on a regular basis includes:

Sea
Salvage (randomly and often)
Dynamis (mainly Ice and CoP, cities are on an as-needed basis)
ZNMs
Nyzul Isle
Limbus
Ouryu and BV.2
Einherjar

Stuff we do less often / as needed:

Sky
KS99
Various pop NMs
Campaign Op BCNMs
ToAU Beastmen Raids

Jobs we're looking for:

WHM
BLM
PLD
BLU
SCH

Well geared and experienced WAR/SAM/MNK are also welcome, but please have any other support/mage at 75 as well.

We encourage applicants to have more than one job at 75 as versatility within a small shell is key, and at least one mage job. That being said, we look for people as much as, if not more, than jobs. We want to make sure that you're a good fit within the rest of the shell. We (obviously!) welcome cross-server apps, just keep in mind we will be running a BG check on you.

General info and a few rules:

Events fall on three days of the week. Farming is not a mandatory event, but pop days are. You may not hold an outside shell for events such as limbus, etc. If you have any questions about this please let us know.

We do keep a linkshell bank that will be primarily used to pay for salvage body completions, as well as several other things (dynamis hourglasses, etc.)

Few questions for you guys.

Is your roster currently up to date?

Is the timezone for the upcoming events on your main page Cst as the OP here implies? Do events usually happen on time/30mins after start time/or even worse?

Is salvage at all mandatory and what about nyzul? I'm assuming people can choose which if either they care to do but some clarity wouldn't hurt. Asking because salvage is listed on the upcoming events while nyzul is not. What would you say the average assault rank is of your active salvage crew?

How often does someone in the shell have to be walked around in sea/sky?

I see upcoming limbus/einherjar/salvage on the front page but nothing relating to dynamis. Is this simply not wanting to schedule a 3.5hr event during the holidays or something else? If the former then when do you normally run dynamis and what time?

Judging from what I can see without being registered your linkshell forums don't look very active, is that different on the inside?

During events about how many people do you have that use ventrilo?

Yes our roster is currently up to date. The pictures aren't, as I've been busy putting together the back-end database.

We do run on CST. This is actually one of the most prompt LS I've seen around, but I wont lie and say there are days when we don't run off schedule.

Salvage and Nyzul are not mandatory. Most of the LS has been burned out on Salvage and we are holding off on it until the first of the New Year. There are two Nyzul groups approaching floor 100 and I believe a third one starting up.
Salvage is listed on schedule because we do clear time for it on the schedule of events. Nyzul is done "on your own time". Most of the active crew is at least FL to spam RvB. We have a few captains, and some below FL, but those are typically the people who don't do salvage.

I dont think anyone needs to be led around sky, and if they do there's a wealth of information on how to get there available. We encourage people to be independent. Sea is a bit different as some jobs simply have a harder time moving around in sea, and some members have not had a ton of time up here. If navigation inside becomes an issue we pair people up.

Dynamis was left unscheduled for about a month because we couldn't decide on a day. It is now scheduled for Mondays. One of the most current posts on the website highlights last Monday's Beaucedine Run, and further back there's a Xarc. Events ARE slightly hairy around holidays however, I wont lie.

Forum activity comes and goes, but our public forums don't see much use. Our members area is active on a daily basis.

I think everyone in the LS has vent. We use it primarily for Einherjar, Limbus, etc. We don't use it for Dynamis because most people prefer to listen to music... but if need be we can get almost all the shell on. Typically there's at least a handful of people on there and chattering during downtime as well.

There's no straight answer to that question...

In a word - yes. We use it often for both events and casual chatter. However if it gets too obnoxious and people start to lose focus, start yelling over one another, or stop paying attention, the leaders will get off vent and begin directing things in LS and Party chat.

Why not just take a TH3 THF and do some work in making your members better? Just because they dont have TH4 doesnt mean they're good THFs, Hell most THFs i see with TH4 Suck beyond Holy hell

It just seems strange for a shell that does mostly Iceland and Dreamland for Dynamis to want a group of people who get their best items from those particular areas to already have them, rendering those items useless outside of selling them.

Nothing against you mahira, but its rude to decline a job you need just because you dont want to work to get them better, You guys do Dynamis Xarcabard, Why not get him his TH4 there, and then you'll have a dedicated member you know isnt going to suck.

Er, I'm a Th3 THF lol. I don't have Assassin's arms.

What that is meant to imply is that if you consider THF as your MAIN job, you should have TH4. We have quite a few THF now.
That doesn't mean we wont take a TH3 THF that has other mage jobs to offer =)

Our recruitment info on the forums had been updated some time ago, I apologise for not updating them here until just now.

For the record, we have never turned away someone who apped solely because they do not have TH4. If they were declined there was another reason behind it, that we have discussed as a LS. Maybe someone had a problem with them, or they don't meet mission requirements, didn't have a mage job at 75 period (automatic denial), etc. We ask all our THF apps whether they have it so we know. If they're coming in with a BLM or WHM, I'll be honest, I probably wont care one bit if their THF is TH3. If they're coming in with a RDM or a BRD, I might think a little harder about whether it matters.

I also think our TH4's would be kinda insulted to hear your assumption of them sucking.

We're far more concerned with having the mage/support job than the TH4... I think we have 6-7 (active) thieves in the shell now, 4 of those have TH4. I and at least 2 others, don't. There's also a couple more people leveling it. We also have a running joke about TH going because our Sea Torques like to drop with no TH more than they do with TH4.

The comment about Dynamis is a bit unfounded, as no one in the shell has only one job... I think every single one of our THF has BLM at 75 as well, and half of them have RDM... there's a lot of good gear coming out of those zones that their other jobs can use. The current and upcoming Thieves that don't have Assassin's will get theirs out of Xarcabard, no worries about that.

As mentioned, we've never declined a single person for that reason.
I think you're seriously misunderstanding this...
At the most base level, what are we gonna do with Armlets if everyone already has em? Toss em? The purpose of the shell is to gear people. Having TH4 in the shell already has the potential to make it go faster is really all it comes down to.

I'm sorry the way we set up our rules was misunderstood, but perhaps next time find me in-game to discuss... I'm always happy to explain.
