Alas! I campaign to little! <.<
With Mystic Boon avaiable I usually seek for any way to get rid of my MP fast <.<
Raising people in Campaign is not a problem for me, but when you Raise someone and they don't thank you is like a slap on the face. Also there's people that will die and AFK and when you Raise them it doesn't work. So it's things like these that make healers not want to Raise others.
When I melee with SAM in Campaign I sub /WHM so I don't have to rely on others to Raise me. It's simple![]()
ATTN: Those who don't go to campaign as RDM, WHM, SCH, PLD, /SCH, or /WHM.
Nobody cares about you
I only cast Raise after campaign ends. Buy a fucking reraise item from the NPC or sub something useful is my point on it. I already have to cure and raise people all the time when I play those jobs outside of campaign, fuck if anyone thinks I'll be doing the same thing in it.
The only time I cure other people is if they're tanking NMs or if they're in the range of NPCs when I accession+cure on SCH.
Ill raise people who at least try to prepare themselves for solo combat (e.g. /WHM but died from an AOE after reraising, /RDM, /DNC, etc.) DRK/WARs and even melees with /NIN are just fail; you will take damage in Campaign, /NIN offers no method of recouping lost HP without depending on others. Sounds as though you are one of the latter, otherwise you wouldn't be on the ground still.
I typically roll WAR/DNC and during a string of campaigns, I will go to a region in campaign that is controlled by my nation to get RR first. While you can't buy RR scrolls in other areas, the RR effect remains active assuming you don't change jobs.
You forgot the magic word.
It would help if you could Buy Reraise items from Beastmen Controlled areas or areas outside your own nations control, and i don't think i've met one person who'd splooge for a Reraise Earring and replace it every 3 Campaign battles.
So aside from Everyone subbing WHM in Campaign, what you said is pure stupid, There are just some instances where your going to die, i don't care if your a SAM/DNC with Soboro constantly at 300%TP, no amount of Healing Waltz will keep you alive when a Mob NM uses Ore Lob for about 2000 DMG, or Shoulder Tackle for 1k then double attacks you for 400DMG a hit and a Critical for 600+, or That Effing Yagudo Sweep NM move for like 900, or the Special Double kick for 1k and spams it back to back.
Shit happens and sooner or later everyone is going to die in campaign, would it be to hard for you to throw em a bone and raise?
Raising someone isnt really a big deal but then again ive started to favor the dungeon raids simply because people are so fantastically stupid when it comes to what they do in Campaign.
Lets take the jackass that drags Rockchopper near people fighting the normal quads which leads to a stone-lock glarefest. Stupid? or fucking stupid? No amount of RR is going to help you when people do dumb things or you are fighting in areas outside of your nation. (Some people actually enjoy rotating areas to keep it fresh, contrary to popular belief) The least a mage or pld could do is toss a raise after events like that, asking beforehand to prevent a waste of mp.
Ive started to favor going to campaign theatres where no one shows up except for npcs because well... the NPCs are fucking smarter than the players. At least the medics dont QQ about raising people who are contributing to the effort.
I get so fanatical about gaining ground, I raise every chance I get just to have more people to throw at the enemy. That said, kinda stupid not to have some form of RR. When I'm on MNK/DNC (no natural RR) and I go to an area that a nation isn't controlling (no temp items/medics), I just ride the RR I used from an earlier fight, usually works out fine.
It goes back to the old argument about the WHM "being responsible" for casting Sneak/Invis on his party.
Some people believe that, "if you don't have it, don't expect to get it."
Raise and Campaign is like that. Of course shit happens, but Avarice's knack for putting delicate discussions so succinctly sort of brought the rest of us down this path.
Besides, "sooner or later everyone dies" is actually a pretty good argument for arming one's self to avoid eating dirt without recourse.
If the battle is over then yeah, common courtesy is to raise whoever is dead around. If you're just whining because you had to sit dead for 10 minutes instead of being able to get more points then shove it, you would probably just run in weakened and die again in a few seconds anyways.
It always irks me when the people who come incapable of curing themselves, staying alive, or bringing RR want to QQ about being dead during a battle, especially if they're just some plain DD. Truth is that on most fodder mobs as a RDM or PLD/DNC I don't need you alive in order to kill it, but dumping 150 MP on getting you up so that you can slap it for more points may infact risk my ability to survive the mob.
I raise (with my mule) depending on why someone dies usually. If they are someone that was trying to pull and solo away from everyone and got adds, they stay down. If they were spamming JA and shit not caring about pulling hate, they stay down. Tanking, DDing smartly, or other things that do not generally make them stupid, they get a raise. Mages that were not trying to solo also get raises.
I've wasted entirely too much time and mp on "no effect" raises. If I didn't see you die, or you didn't ask me personally, you don't get a raise. Whiny people who think they're entitled to raises can wait for the NPC army to find them.
