All the correlation between cartoon and remakes aside, Michael Bay isn't the best director to take up the reigns on a movie like this. I pretty much expected them to change it up when it comes to movie adaptation, but self serving indulgence for explosions to cover up bad camera angles and horribly edited film flow is just dumb, no matter how you justify it.

I understand they tried to inject more "humanity" into the story of the robot wars, but if you're going to do it, the least you can do is hire better actors. Fox's ass is the only redeeming quality she has as an actress. Her and Lebo have 0 chemistry. His quips get annoying after the first 2 lines.

The underlining US MIC commercial was completely unnecessary. I'm sure we can kick alien ass if they'll invade and we'll do it all over the world too, because other countries have no millitaries of their own. Especially China. lol

True fans are often the fans that aren't really fans. If they were fans, they would enjoy the series regardless.

Truer fans, however, are the fans that genuinely have beef with something that it isn't - I.E. a fan of the Dragonball Z series would be okay with the DBZ movie but acknowledge that it really had little to do with the actual DB canon it was based on.

Holy shit. Watched the premiere... was definitely fucking worth it!

AMC was showing it in 4 theaters, and we had to look through 3 just to find really good seats. (Ended up people just stood up the entire movie)

This movie hands down, along with X-Men Origins, is the best I've seen this year.

Saw it last night for midnight release. The line at just *one* of the theaters showing the movie started right outside that theatres entrance, wrapped around a corner, down an entire hall way, out a back exit, down the entire wall of the building and then turned another corner of the building.

It was awesome. It wasn't the perfect movie, but it wasn't terrible either. I was, though, a little disappointed that they opted to showcase the twins more than some characters I would've liked better, like Sideswipe and Arcee.

Also, what was the deal with Arcee? Was she just one of the three identical motorcycles, and the other two were like her protege? They acknowledged just Arcee a few times, but each time there were the three motorcycles all together, and during the final battle the three transformed versions of the motorcycles were always together.

I never said it had to follow the exact same storyline, but the characteristics of each robot should be the same. ie - Megatron should be shouting, "I SERVE NOBODY!" not bowing down like a punk 5 minutes into the movie.

The acting, angles, climax(or lack-thereof), lack of emotion, sound/music, etc all made the movie horrid.

And to the above post, of course you didn't learn anything about Arcee, because there was no character development in the movie lol.

They could have saved it all if they just showed Unicron after the credits....oh well....hopefully they get a new director for the next one.

Really don't want to come across as an ass, but you do not deserve to give praise to movies as your movie taste is proven horrible by that bolded statement

lol get a new director? I'm sure Bay is making the company millions & millions. To be this butthurt over a children's cartoon is silly.

It tried to be funny at the worst times. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great.

As someone who has never watched an episode of Transformers or knows anything about the series other than playing with an action figure of a robot at a friend's 4th birthday party, I thought the movie was great! Amazing action scenes and special effects aside, they definitely incorporated the robot's personalities and characteristics more than the first movie. There was also a much larger comedic relief presence, some of which were actually funny, and WAYYYY more fanservice shots/angles of Megan Fox.

I'm not sure if I like the second one more than the first, but I'm definitely not regretting anything or angry. Don't listen to some people on here, just put your bad thoughts aside and go watch the movie objectively.

    This is risky advice.

The first time I saw the first movie it had the RiffTrax commentary playing behind it, and I had a blast. When I tried watching it again without the commentary, I found myself desperately bored and turned it off at the interrogation scene because I couldn't stand that fat black 'comedy relief' kid any more, and I knew it didn't get better from there.

If you're going to go to this movie you actually do have to turn off the objective part of your brain because it's going to want to analyze shit and compare it to superior action films of your life time. This is a very stupid movie not uttely devoid of enjoyment. Expect no more than that and your only complaint will be the length. The movie is way too fucking long.

It's funny how the critics are bashing this movie. Sometimes I wonder if the critics just have a negative predisposition since it's a Michael Bay film. No matter what they say, people are still going to see it and this movie is going to make at least 60-70 million this weekend.

Went to watch at the Cinema with the GF and it's the first time in a long time that I felt the movie was worth the cost. It's that fucking long I doubt my entry cost covered wear and tear on the seats. :D

I knew what I was getting into and for a popcorn flick it wasn't that bad <_< Now if you went in thinking this was like some sort of thought provoking film...

I actually liked the brother robot's and what they added... I personally didn't notice a stereotype until my friends pointed it out and complained a lot about it. To me, they were just characters.

The only thing that didn't make sense for me was this: okay, Optimus dies. No problem there. The Decepticons steal an all-spark shard that was under military lock & key, which is, you know, so far so good. They don't ever really acknowledge the shard that shakes loose from Shia's sweatshirt from the first movie at that point. Instead, it's like, oh let's take this shard to the Air & Space Museum and revive some old codger Decepticon Jetfire who doesn't really wanna be a Decepticon any more, instead of using it straight away to revive Optimus. That is the only thing that made no sense to me. You could argue they needed to revive the Jetfire to be told that the language/symbols in Sam's head are in the Prime language, but wouldn't the priority be to revive Optimus.. wouldn't a Prime be able to read/interpret the Prime language?
