This was a fanservice movie imo. It was well done, and as a reboot, you assholes shouldn't be all stuck the fuck up about lore. Its the exact same as many of the other reboots. A little creative license, and a little bit of getting new fans interested in the series.

They don't ever really acknowledge the shard that shakes loose from Shia's sweatshirt from the first movie at that point. Instead, it's like, oh let's take this shard to the Air & Space Museum and revive some old codger Decepticon Jetfire who doesn't really wanna be a Decepticon any more, instead of using it straight away to revive Optimus. That is the only thing that made no sense to me. You could argue they needed to revive the Jetfire to be told that the language/symbols in Sam's head are in the Prime language, but wouldn't the priority be to revive Optimus.. wouldn't a Prime be able to read/interpret the Prime language?
I felt the same way, but I got distracted by the Megan Fox slow motion run scenes.

    Needless to say:

    Spoiler: show
Jetfire did a mediocre job explaining the whole key and sun raper thing

Entertaining movie, lots of laughs and action. Too long for me to sit in a theater again but will watch it when it comes to the internet, in good quality or to Blu Ray.

Well I just got back from this movie, and I loved it. I don't know what the fuck Weltall is rambling on about this true fan nonsense, but I've always loved Transformers to death, and well, 80's Transformers just doesn't go with everything today. Hell, 75% of the audience was 17 and under. My friend and I are 28, and we speculated most of them hadn't a clue what Transformers really is.

The only thing I fucking LOATHED and was completely and utterly shit in this movie was the twins. OH MY GOD every time there were on screen I wanted to blow my brains out. If you thought they were funny, you have some serious issues. I don't care about the whole stereotype thing going on with them, just how fucking stupid they were. Like everyone but my friend and I were laughing, just showing the ignorance of youth, I guess. If they weren't in the movie, it would have been better than the first one.

Best part of the movie, fight in the forest scene with Prime. Dual Wielding and saying even when he's outnumbered, "I'll take you all on!" I think I stopped breathing in that scene, I was awestruck at how great it was.

Two thumbs up, will go see it again in a week in Imax!

I didn't like the twins either, it just felt completely out of character for robots to be acting in their manner.

Regardless, I saw the movie tonight, and I just wanted to know if I wasn't the only person that felt that all the action scenes involved too many close-up shots with motion-blurred robotic crap flying all about, with bad camera-cats making it impossible to tell specific what was going on until the tail-end of the fight where you finally get re-orientated on where the camera is actually located in the scene.

    [EDIT] Camera-cuts*

Yeah, the twins annoyed me a lot too. I just didn't like sitting there listening to transformers shouting shit like "Yo, we gonna bust a cap in his bitch ass or what?" If I wanted to hear shit like that for two hours I would've spent my money on Next Day Air.

Twins were pretty obnoxious... I agree with you.

I won't lie, this is the first thing Transformers related I've ever seen... I didn't even see the first one. Going to the movies to watch it was a last minute thing. Friend thought tickets were sold out, but I found 3 and bought them. Grabbed one of my girlfriends, had him come pick us up, and bam. Had fun, great movie, waffle house directly afterwards. Nothing beats it haha

I think there were a lot of scenes that should not have been shot. There was room for more explanation for the audience. Someone mentioned:

    Spoiler: show
The energon extractor + matrix key. Very short and quick explanation by Jetfire. I was kind of like "Wait, so does it take the energy from the sun to harvest the energon within the Earth? Or does it destroy the sun and...wait what is going on now?" I don't recall any energon references in the first movie, so people that weren't familiar with the lore of transformers wouldn't understand it when the term was mentioned by Fallen early in the 2nd film. Again, more explanation for Bay's 'wider audience'.

I think Bay went trigger happy with his bombs and neglected to give his audience more background and other information. It was basically:

Fight scene > Shia and Fox > comic relief > Shia > comic relief > Fight scene > comic relief > quick references for upcoming fight scene > so on and so forth.

All in all, Bay needs to accept screenplays that have less asplosions and some more information for the viewers. It wasn't hard for me to follow since I have watched Transformers before (although not to a "true fan" sense). However, if I was new to the series, I probably wouldn't have known what the fuck was happening. I need to rewatch the first one and see if there are some questions that were answered there.

Twins were really unneeded indeed. I thought the movie was quite funny, but there parts were just obnoxious and ignorant really.

I go into movies with a very unbiased opinion on what i'm going to be watching. I give each movie a chance no matter what it is. For example I absolutely hate the Star Trek series; I loved the new Star Trek.

    With that said

Holy fucking balls I gotta hand it to Bay. He created a masterful piece of shit that will earn millions.

    Highlights:

    1. Isabel Lucas
    2. Megan Fox running in slow motion
    3. Forest Scene

If i could just have a montage of those three things and pay 9.50 to see that instead of wasting my time with a 2 and half hour movie, i would have.
Don't get me wrong though, there were indeed some funny scenes and i enjoyed some of it. But my god.... just wow lol

Saw the movie in IMAX last night and can sum the movie up in three words....

    MICHAEL BAY EXPLOSIONS!!!!

I didnt have high hopes for this movie in terms of plot and acting, and it didnt suprise me in that regard. There were tons of explosions and fighting between bigass robots. Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas however were so smoking hot, I think I was annoying my wife a little with my comments at how sexy they were looking. They probably coulda cut a good 15min of shit out of that movie easy but that would have been all explosions and fighting taken out.

I think the best way to describe this film is the same way I described the first one. When this movie hits a low point, it's absolutely horrible, but when it hit's a high point it's one of the greatest spectacles on film today. The way Bay seems to work is to focus on the action and action alone, and he is great in that regard. And once all the action is done...he strings them together with a barely there story and a ton of bad jokes. There was a lot of facepalmingly bad moments in this film, things that are just terrible to put into a movie...but in the end it all works out because it's Bay...and he just doesn't give a rats ass.

For all it's low points, the high ones certainly shine brighter, and I'd have no problems goin to see this in theaters again. Which is something I haven't done since the first Transformers movie came out.

    The Good:

    - Forest fight scene. It was badass, nothing more to say.

    - While a little overused, the hot chick fan service was nice.

    - Comic relief with parents was very good (although slightly overused).

    - Special effects were impressive.

    The Bad:

    - Soundwave needed to beat some ass instead of just fuck a satellite all movie.

    - Needed to tone it down a tad with the twins. They were funny, but just too overused. I liked them better as the icecream truck.

    - Final fight needed to be longer. I also would have enjoyed Devestator actually fighting instead of sucking ass. One autobot kicks his ass, then he just stumbles up the pyramid, and then he gets fucking owned by the rail-gun. At least have the remaining constructicons battle after they fall apart.

    - Needed more explanation of Energon. They tried to shove in too much plot too quickly.

    - Parents in the desert at the end? Seriously? That was so pointless.

    - The military assholes need to stop tossing the dead Prime carcass around.

    - Not just using the shard to resurrect Prime was kinda pointless too. I _guess_ it worked out since Jetfire gave Prime a nice power boost in the end, but still...

    The Ugly:

    - Megan Fox toe-thumb.

Overall I thought it was pretty good. Not as good as the first movie was, which I was expecting, but not terrible either. I think they just tried to put too much into the movie, and had to cut alot by the time we got the finished product.

I didn't find it too pointless

    Spoiler: show

They kidnapped Sam's Parents as a failsafe in case he got the Matrix. Then they could use his parents which were the Decepticons hostage as a barganing chip. I think it was interesting though about The Fallen and how basically he was actually Megatrons leader possibly through the first movie as well. Kind of like a hidden main villain. I thought the sun harvester idea was somewhat creative but I know others will disagree.

In the end it was a good movie and it had it's funny moments. Shia LaBeouf screaming like a little girl was pretty damn funny, but it got annoying when he kept screaming "Bubblebee!".
