    While we're talking about realism, I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that we ARE dealing with SquareENIX here.

    Hell by their logic, Wafik, I could shoot you in the face point blank with a 12-gauge and it'd do less damage to you than being shot from 30 feet away.

    Hell that actually got me thinking... while we're on the topic of realism, shouldn't different kinds of armor "realistically" give heightened resistance against certain types of damage? I mean don't get me wrong, I just don't think a mere arrow can penetrate steel, for example.

    This was my idea for a craftable rainbow/prism staff, and function as a "better" staff in that the NQ has the HQ stats and the HQ has even better stats, however it would be extremely expensive and the HQ version would be extremely rare, so the market for individual staves would remain intact (though price may increase due to increased conflict over materials). Creating these items would also involve an abjuration system, further increasing the rarity. I also threw in an upgrade for the elemental rings as well, using the same system.

    Problem is, if they made resist traits and MDB more effective, it would make aspir-type spells nearly useless, since you'd just get fully resisted on mage mobs (except I guess BLM ones, but they have high INT.). :/

    Any boost that isn't a JA or gear, the mob receives as well. Take, for example, the 2hander update. Spiders are THFs with 2handed weapons. Now EP spiders score massive 300+ DMG critical hits and can hit you with a 700 DMG sickle slash.

    I don't think you really want mobs to have increased MDB, guys. That'll just make casting on mage mobs useless.

    Though, I don't see any reason not to increase the effects of resist traits, as the mobs pretty much have a full immunity unless you're 20 levels above them anyway.

    As for killer effects, I love that idea. Something like Correlation on top of intimidating. BLU could really take advantage of that though. But maybe that would be a good thing. BST sure would get a needed boost.

    Is that not what he was getting at? Make all spells equal in cost and damage, so that focus turns to elemental strengths/weaknesses instead of just throwing Blizzard/Thunder at everything. It would be understood that if that happened, mobs' weaknesses to elements would have to be looked at to acommodate the new idea.

    I think his idea would work out quite nicely as long as, like Kyreth mentioned, damage increased each time you get a new element for that tier.

    You need to play some other games to know what is good and bad. FFXI is okay on the concept. I'm going to give it 4 out of 10. Ragnarok Online had the BEST elemental resist/property setup. For a wizard, you need to know your elemental shit or you ain't going to survive.

    Like Lordwafik said it is stupid that water does crap to Tiamat who is fire based. FFXI is about about Blizzard and Thunder. None of the other nuke spells are used. If you have high enough enfeebling and macc, blizzard and thunder will ALWAYS out nuke anything else and that is just stupid.

    I support the idea. I really want to see more High level crafts in the game since the RMT problem isn't that huge of a threat anymore.

    to Toksyu, I believe i remember mentioning of only being able to put a maximum of 4 Categories on an item, like

    {HP/MP}
    {Elemental Resistance}
    {Stats}
    {Acc/Attack/Evasion/etc}
    {Special Bonuses}(I think these are divided into like, Critical +, Job Bonuses, Resist Traits, Killer traits, all being their own Category)
    {Hidden Effects}

    Etc. (you mentioned they'd never do it and if i think i could live with Prism Staff giving +5 to all Stats and the Hidden MaB and Avatar Perp-3)

    I don't think it's possible for a game designed around PT XP... It would require them reworking stuff from scratch and I don't think it's possible. Adding more ways to obtain XP scrolls is one thing, but even XP scrolls can never offer an alt way to lv up a job.

    I also want Killer Effect to MEAN something and Monster correlation to be more potent. I know we got pierce, blunt, slash already but that isn't enough. So all the jobs can be a little more unique. Right now what is really the difference between all the melees? WAR DRK DRG etc. If I'm fighting a dragon, I want to consider to bring dragoons because they will be good for them and etc.

    I'm all about improving crafting, but fuck those synths. Like Salvage bodies need another reason to become even more expensive.

    What if crafters were able to make items that get hit with an EX tag immediately when it leaves their hands?

    It'd be kinda like buying a rare/ex item, but buying it from the crafter that made it, I guess. <_<

    They could add xp to crafting. make "X" synth and you get a certain amount of xp depending on if its NQ/HQ, lv of snyth, ect ect... Would be a fun at 75 to get merit points while crafting or recapping a job's xp through crafting. Doesn't need to be a groundbreaking amount of xp, but even something like 50-100xp per successful synth would add up really fast

    I like this idea, as I've never gotten into crafting. it seemed like such a tedious and time intensive thing to do which in today's in-game economy does not give returns proportional to the ammount of time invested.

    Although i guess this would open up the door to craft botting. what about fish botters?... another problem.

    Isn't there already craft botters? Don't think how adding XP to crafting would encourage more botters since craft botters are all lv one and don't care for xp. I guess it could be a faster way to get XP vs Campaign, but also requires more money and resources.

    Meh, fanatasy world anyways.. would never happen
