I left at 9:00 and im back now at 9:30, took me a longer time filling in all the damn huge boxes, the wait was only 1 person in front of me.

Jenkintown, PA. I walked in about 8:10 and there were 3 other people there. Took me all of 5 minutes to sign in , vote and leave. I was expecting a longer wait.

My prediction. McCain wins popular vote and Obama wins electoral vote. GOP will rage and by 2012 the electoral college will be abolished.

Just got back from voting. I went with two of my roommates, there were only two or three other people there, and only one other person was young.

I was 16 in the last election, so I was excited to cast my vote today, however lame that sounds. I called both of my parents afterward and told them both to go to the polls later tonight.

TV networks usually call it based on exit polls by 11ish EST at the latest, the official numbers take a while.

Most states actually have legally protected voting "vacation", usually an hour or two during the day as long as it's arranged prior to election day. Here in Wisconsin, we actually get up to 3 hours, I think that's the most of anywhere.

I don't get time off to vote in NJ, but I work at a food store and the union gives 4 hours time and a half to all registered voters.

Voting Vacations are only applicable if you don't have 2 or 3hrs off sometime when the polls are open.

In NY you need at least 4 hours from the time the polls open, or after they close from the start/end of your work shit.

Polls open at 6PM and close at 9PM. Your employer is also obligated to post the "Time Off To Work" notice throughout the workplace. My company never put a sign up, so I took advantage of that and grabbed my 2 paid hours off ^_^d.
