just got summarily bitched out by the CEO of my company for being two hours late because of voting. he said to vote on my own time, and when i replied that i was there well over an hour before i start work and the state website said voters should turn out in the morning, he said "i have rules too, and i guess i have to enforce them."

any idea what legal recourse i have if he fires me?

Voted, took like 10 min but I went at 11 EST. Probably way worse this morning before rush hour and tonight after people get off of work. I'm in Northern VA.

    Good job

The amendment said that if passed it would define marriage as only between a man and a woman, or something to that extent

Most states require you to give fair notice (several days at least, a week or two optimally) to your employer, calling at 7am wouldn't qualify as that.

DIXVILLE NOTCH, N.H. – Barack Obama came up a big winner in the presidential race in Dixville Notch and Hart's Location, N.H., where tradition of having the first Election Day ballots tallied lives on.

Democrat Obama defeated Republican John McCain by a count of 15 to 6 in Dixville Notch, where a loud whoop accompanied the announcement in Tuesday's first minutes.

The town of Hart's Location reported 17 votes for Obama, 10 for McCain and two for write-in Ron Paul. Independent Ralph Nader was on both towns' ballots but got no votes.
