    Random Crashes/Lockups

    Hello!

For the most part I think I've solved the Sapphire ATI Radeon 4850 issues on my GF's computer with the other thread by flashing to the latest available BIOS and using the latest CCC released v8.10

Anyways, beyond this, there are other issues the computer is experiencing, primarily the computer will randomly freeze/lock up, even if it's idling, or barely doing anything too intensive (ie. Firefox open with Youtube video, only one tab).

Sometimes after restarting the computer, we'll get some kind of error message, that some driver has crashed or isn't working properly, the name escapes me at the moment, but it was something like ANICWZI.exe or something, which I believe was related to the USB Wireless Adapter.

Another issue is that sometimes the sound will stutter while playing FFXI and start to lag horribly, before the computer becomes nonresponsive.

I suspect somethings up with the Wireless Adapter, or some component is failing and I have no freaking clue what it is.

    Specs listed below:
    Intel Core™2 Duo Processor E8400 3.00GHz w/ 6MB Cache
    Patriot Extreme Performance DDR2 4GB (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400 Enhanced Latency Dual Channel Kit
    Asus P5Q w/ DualDDR2 1200, 7.1 Audio, Gigabit Lan, 1394, PCI-E 2.0 x16
    SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 4850 512MB PCI-E w/ Dual DVI, HDTV-Out
    Samsung SH-S223F 22x SpeedPlus™ DVD-Writer, SATA (OEM) Black
ANTEC Sonata III Quiet Super Mini Tower w/ EarthWatts 500W, eSATA

    Running Windows XP Professional w/SP3

Also, we've run numerous tests with Memtest86+, while we got some weird error the first time around, the next 3 tests we did produced none.

Your exe brings up no matches on google, so you likely got the name wrong. See if you can grab the right name the next time the error message pops up, it'll go a long way to figuring out what the problem is.

Anyway, until you get an error message the easiest way to troubleshoot this is to start disconnecting things one at a time. Disconnect the adapter for instance, and use the computer for a bit and see if it locks up. If it does you know its something else.. if it doesn't then you might have found your problem. Let us know if you find out anything..

    it's the ANIWZCS2 service that crashed, and is very likely the culprit I'm thinking -.-;

Yeah, that's a D-link network service. Download the latest drivers for the wireless adapter you have. Then delete everything related to the adapter and uninstall it from your system. Reboot, install the drivers you downloaded before, and see if that fixes your problem.

Apparently it was the RAM, we dropped it off at the place we bought all the components, and got them to look at it due to us having a full warranty on everything. They ran memtest overnight and it took 28 passes, but they found some errors with the ram.

Unfortunately that only seemed to help a little. The machines still getting some random crashes/lockups.

This time, this computer occasionally reboots by itself into a black screen with
"Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device"

This computer is slowly starting to eat away at my patience.

Video card problems > RAM > Still more problems.
I'm hoping the mobo and hard drive aren't failing, and going to attempt to upgrade the mobo firmware. I don't remember at this point, but the optical and hard drive might be sharing a sata or power cable, so I might have to try seperating those, or just disconnecting the optical drive and see if the problem occurs.
