Or SE could, you know, do what people have been bitching for years in dynamis with and autodrop the loot pool to highest current lotter (like when new items come in and it forces old ones out, or to a random person if no lotters) before removing anyone form the zone. It would take 1 second for it to empty the pool to whoever, before continuing zonage as normal.

Yes it's stupid when people don't have RR/go afk/fuck up in some way and can't lot/pass with time left. Yes it sucks getting something awesome with 15 seconds left and not being able to grab it. Yes, the OP wouldnt have had any help here since the person who wanted it was dead.

But it still wouldn't be much effort at all and would help in like 95% of situations like this to just autosort everything from the pool before timing a group out, be it dynamis, einherjar (not winning on boss), nyzul, salvage, assaults, anything else you can time out and get zoned that I'm missing. Sheesh.

Now he's just going to be waiting ever longer . You said yourself you guys are 2/20. Home pointing is like a 2.4k exp loss? You can get that back in what... 15 mins tops? You can also boot the person but if that's not an option the time you'll sink in to getting another askar body is nothing compared to the time you spend getting the get exp back.

tl;dr, i kick people out if they're dead or not lotting. /pcmd kick <name> can be very quick depending on your typing skills
