When I was bulking I would crave sugar like a madman. Now that I'm cutting, I really crave white carbs (white rice, white bread, etc). About once a week, I also get cravings for chocolate, and need to use all my will power not to buy a twix, kit-kat, or reeses candy. Muscle Milk seems to help subdue any kind of craving though, since it tastes so damn good.

I've always found the best way to stop eating hourly (I love cookies, idk why, english bay chocolate chip cookies ._.), is eating or sucking on crushed ice. The chunky crushed ice that comes out of a fridge or something. Just putting some water/apple juice/pepsi(or organic root beer isn't too bad either) with the ice makes me feel full, also. Mint chewing gum like Five is also helpful for me.

I'd like to use this thread to say that I have frequent falafel cravings. well, i made a bowl of falafel dough/batter lastnight...fried up 5 tonight...probably still have like 15-20 worth left...i will never worry about falafel cravings again. making your own falafel is bad ass!

I've had cravings for In'n'Out so bad I've driven the 4 hours each way for my yearly animal-style burgers and fries.

For me. Its all about chips and soda. I play tennis and badminton ~2 hours a day every day I can. I try to not eat chips, but I usually end up eatting some once a week. But the soda, I just can't not drink it. When I started living at college in the dorms, I drank soda with everything, and gained a bit of weight, but as soon as I moved back home the next year, I dropped about 35 pounds from just dropping the soda. But now the tennis and badminton keeps me in shape enough where I can just eat whatever I want.

And before anyone knocks badminton, get to a reasonable play level, and then talk bad about it, Its MUCH MUCH more of a workout than tennis ever will be.

Hmm...glad I read this thread, I'm gonna see if I can go to the Chinese Buffet here in town this weekend!

But anyway, usually I just eat whatever I want, and I haven't gained or lost weight in like, a year at least. I'm right in the middle of where I should be for my height, and get told I'm skinny a lot, but admittedly I could do with a little more muscle as opposed to being how I am (which is just kinda average looking, imo.)

Edit: Also get about 4-5 hours of exercise a week in over a 2 day period.

This. I'm a terrible chocoholic and used to go through 2-3 large pots of tea a day for my caffeine (and I don't mean cups or even mugs, I mean those pots that make enough for 4 people). When I found out I was pregnant I just started filling the house with fruits. Every time I do a food shop I make sure I get apples/bananas/kiwis/watermelon/grapefruit/raisins/tinned pineapple/younameit and keep them stocked in the house at all times. If I get a craving for chocolate or tea I just attack the fruit bowl instead. Now that I'm approaching 5th month I don't even crave tea anymore and while I still cave in in the chocolate department at times it's nowhere near as bad. I've stopped buying cheap choccy bars and told myself if I buy chocolate is has to be Thorntons/Lindt/some other more expensive (and delicious) type. I'm less likely buy much when it's pricey no matter how good it is.

Salt is good for you if you're working out but what do I know right.

Try tobacco, gets rid of wanting food fast.

I hear you can lose a buncha weight if you do crack.

I put on like 60 lbs after high school because I used to wrestle and I worked out like a madman, but then I graduated and I stopped wrestling and working out like I did. However, I continued eating like a slob because I was working out so much it didn't matter (and I was always able to stay underweight). I got even lazier and drank a lot more when I went to college.

For the past year and a half I've been getting back towards my high school weight. But when I'm dieting the only things that can consistantly break my diet are my moms sausage and peppers, and my dads homemade raviollis and homemade sauce. Plus I still drink too much. Other than that I just work out pretty consistantly. Although I don't do as much cardio as I'd like to, lifting weights burns a ton of calories also.

Correction: bad chinese food is garbage
good chinese food is incredibly good, and relatively healthy, since they'll generally incorporate a lot of vegetables in the dishes.

For you guys who exercise so that you can eat: what types of bodies are you aiming to maintain? I was under the impression that you had to constantly eat healthy AND exercise to maintain the stereotypical/generic ideal (male) body, but I haven't gotten there yet. Although the ideal body is different for everyone, I hope you guys have a general understanding of what I mean when I use that term.

If you're looking to curb your appetite for a couple hours, try eating peanuts. Thats one of the things I did when I was all diet/workout nazi a couple months ago, and it worked very well.

They key is just eat in moderation. There's no need to absolutely starve yourself. You can have eat what you want, just eat LESS of it. Eveyone likes pizza, but is afraid to eat it when they're on a "diet" You can still have pizza. Just don't have 2 slices. Have 1. Don't drink soda with it. Drink a couple pints of water. You'll satisfy that craving for pizza and feel full. Also don't devour food like there's no tomorrow. Eat food slower, and enjoy it, you will get more full. Another key factor is nights and weekends. This is when people usually "splurge" and go off whatever they're doing. Just control yourself when you go foodshopping. Simple solution, really. Don't buy junk food, skip over it in the supermarket and then when you get home, it won't be there for you to eat.

When you're preparing dinner, before cooking whatever you're making, take a look at it and honestly ask yourself "Is this too much?" In a lot of cases, you will find it is. Most people tend to overeat. Even if it's a couple forkfuls of pasta or whatever on their plate and they're already full, they will eat it. Just prepare less. Drink less soda/juice. Empty calories. Water will do the same thing, but has no calories and has no sweet taste.

I will admit, it SUCKS at night when I am home and there is nothing to snack on, but you are so much better off. My mom lost 15 lbs just adhering to this alone, with no excercise. I just started a couple weeks ago and can feel a difference already. You can eat chinese food, but instead of eating the one massive potion they tend to give you, split it into 3 different meals.

I'll allow myself a couple days a week. Maybe once a day I'll have a cup of juice. I used to drink it constantly. Maybe on the weekend I'll get a BBQ cheeseburger from the rib place down the street. But it's okay. As long as you're careful the rest of the week, a day or two isn't gonna kill you.

All that aside, when I crave something it's usually a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger from Ribs on the Run, or chocolate or something of the like.

    3k calories? lol

thats why u americans are FAT!

3k calories is a diet to gain weight for someone very tall!

i exercise at least 3x a week for about 2 hrs, very intense (olympic gymmnast), im 1,7m and i probably never eat more than 2,5k a day.

If you wanna lose weight and be healthy prepare yourself for a 2k diet. If you dont exercise, lower that amount by at least 500 calories.

The trick is eat very little several times a day, at least 6 times, being, breakfast, middle of morning (like 10 AM), lunch at 12:00-1:00, again 3-4 PM, after you get home from work or whatever (6-7 PM) and 1-2 hrs before sleep you can eat again if you want.

only breakfast and lunch should be consider big meals

For something to snack on, I usually go for a bag of Snyder's of New Hanover: Honey Mustard and Onion pretzels. If I'm at a seafood restaurant, I'll order a bowl of clam chowder soup. The best chowder I've ever had was in Savannah, GA but, damnit, I can't think of the name of the restaurant. It was right on the docks.
