Obama is a Capitalist, so my guess is no.

To answer the question of what Republicans will do, well here's my thoughts:

If Obama does poorly, you're going to see more neocons in office.

If Obama does really well in office, he's going to be re-elected and the 2012 election will likely be neocons again and that same type of agenda, once we get to 2016 if Obama is still doing well I have a pretty good feeling the Paul/Libertarian portion of the Republican (and Libertarian Parties) would come together and have more influence.

Though that's assuming that the Republicans or the Democrats would allow a person in office who would 180 the Presidency. I think it's more likely the neocons tone themselves down, present a Bush-like candidate who can appear to be one thing and do another in office.

What I'd hope for is the legitimacy of a third-party with Libertarian minded leaders who weren't full of shit.

Edit: Socialism, Communism, Capitalism, Democracy, whatever. Put a name on a form of government present in the world today and it's all a means to control wealth and maintain power lol.

Communism is state authoritarian style, communism is the Marxist endgame. or vice-versa, but you have to acknowledge a difference.

and you know that the "fairness" of contracts ultimately fails, right? not to mention the idea of equal rights/protection in a capitalist system, right?

Fox just said Jindal has plans to go to Iowa this month. In the context of that it seemed they were inferring he was getting ready for 2012.

I agree with Churchill that the Republican party is going to have to reform its policies if it wishes to stay competitive with Democrats. Based on the voting pattern differences with age, it would seem that the Republican's grasp is just going to continually slip until there is nothing left. In fact, it's similar to the Communist (Soviet) party in Russia which has continued to slip due to the elderly groups slowly disappearing (As opposed to just a sudden drop in votes after the fall of the Soviet Union). Now of course the Russian Communist and US Republican party are not the same in terms of ideology, but the voting trends are similar (Though more extreme in the Russian case).

oh I see what your doing. Taking the moral high road, right?

I'll indulge you. Since there IS no system, you are right. There are no guarantees.

But let's look at it this way, what am I really doing if I put a gun to your head and ask for a "donation" to say, clothe the poor?

I say no system without guarantees is better then a system that guarantees violence, coercion, theft and murder.

So now that Barry won, I want to see how he handles:

    Healthcare
    Israel-Palestine conflict
    Iraq/Iran

Healthcare - Won't bother with this, we all know my views.

Israel-Palestine conflict - He's going to suck jew cock and refuse to see the merits of the Palestinian argument because he will get killed if he attempts to.

Iraq/Iran - Iraq is won as far as it's going to get won, as we start to pull out, violence will increase again but it's something that has to happen. If he takes credit for anything I'm going to call him a piece of shit, but other than that I think Iraq is a non-issue and should have been this whole time.

Iran, well...I'm fairly confident in my assessment that Obama's Iran plan is similar to McCain's, he just wasn't flagrantly inflammatory about it.

The lack of change in foreign policy is one of the largest reasons I didn't vote for anyone. I'd rather not trade fighting Iraq for fighting Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sudan.

no no, healthcare is a good subject.

From what i've read, he's not really gonna "change" anything important. Just a few details here and there. If you are a dumbass who doesn't know how private health insurance works, you are still gonna stay uninsured.
