    Final Fantasy XI Sound Effects Help

    I just reformatted my laptop (Dell XPS M1530) and installed Vista Ultimate x64. Before this I was running Windows XP Pro with no problems. Now, I am not getting any sound effects in FFXI. I've rebooted the game multiple times, double checked the SFX volume in the settings, and made sure my speaker volume was turned up. I'm out of ideas of what could be causing this. Please help!

    Maybe you got some corrupted sound files? Try;

    POL Viewer > Check Files.

    There is also a "Disable Sound" option in the POL config. Make sure that is set properly as well.

    Are you using the Windower? I know the launcher app for that seemed to like setting max sounds to 0 for me.
