i hail TNG for all its glory and i was actually around watching when the ep's originally aired and i own all of the boxed seasons but i find it so hard to actually re-watch season 1 thru 3 aside from a couple classics here and there

4-7 is where the fruit is and i love most of those eps - ds9 i can rewatch s1 thru s7 np

Is it so hard to ask for a good star trek? TV series, not movie cuz most of the movies blow donkey balls.

and if you are that butthurt about tpol being in a full body suit saying thats one of the major downfalls of the series how about troi in her full body suit or seven in hers or heck even crusher in her full body suit -every- female actor outside of janeway has had a fucking super skin tight suit on at one point or another across multiple eps, look at jadzia and kira in ds9 these could all be described as the frat boy treks if you wanna get QQ about it

the real reason enterprise failed was due to Paramount/UPN not being able to bring back all the original fan base from TNG/DS9 and even TOS. un-original characters outside of the doctor and yes tpol (there's only so many times you can go back to travis' freighter days or trip's horseback riding cowbuy antics). the Xindi season also cursed the show because it was too high of an expectation that just wasn't executed well because it wasnt thought out enought. i think if they went for a style more like season 4 for season 3 then did a full season arc for season 4 they would have had a fuckton more staying power. season 1 and 2 were great 3 had some good ideas but killed the show and 4 was also amazing.

the budget was pulled near the end of s3 and you can see it in the sets and some of the CGI in s4. it's really sad that enterprise didn't make it to s7 there was so much that we didn't get to see and so much that i was looking forward to seeing.

enterprise didn't fail it was paramount that failed enterprise by pulling out too soon. think about what we would have missed if DS9 stopped at s4.

imo enterprise destroys voyager and im a big voyager fine not to mention a HUGE trek fan overall so mebbe thats why im so attached to enterprise so much potential was to be had
Were I butthurt about anything, it would be that there was no super hot dude wearing a costume so impossibly skin tight that you could see what religion he was. And nearly all of the time he would have been shirtless. And he would frequently times he would have strolled around in nothing but his very skimpy underwear. And sometimes whilst in his underwear he would have managed to get soaking wet. And maybe, just maybe, butt shots. But I digress.

The thing about T'Pol is not that she was a female in a skintight suit, it is the fact that she was a Vulcan in a skintight suit. I don't consider myself a Trekkie by any stretch of the imagination, I enjoyed TNG, liked DN9, and didn't hate Voyager. But there are certain things that just take a dump on everything that has been established throughout all of the series. Why would a Vulcan female wear something skin-tight like that? Wearing a sexually alluring outfit would not be logical in nearly any situation, but especially on a ship full of lonely dudes who spend long stretches in space surrounded by lots of men. This is why it is Trek for frat boys. Hell, the fact that they eschewed the word "Star Trek" for the first two seasons was just another example of Brannon Braga and Rick Berman dropping trow and squeezing out another one on the fan base. (Note, they added in "Star Trek" to the title in the third season when the ratings were skinking.)

The reason it didn't bring back the fan base was that they didn't want the fan base, they wanted to reach new people. When the ratings got worse for the third season, they slapped the "Star Trek" name on it and expected their fan base to show back up, but nerds do not soon forget slights and are inherently wrathful.

Pretty sure that's Kirk in every 3rd episode of TOS.

Maybe it's cause I'm not a trekky but I thought that's where most the viewer-base was, not with doing re-makes or re-imaginings of the original or prequels.
It goes through cycles. When they think that the Trekkie Base is all played out, can't stand to watch anymore, and their numbers start to drop, they stop making new episodes/movies and just show you reruns for 20 years. Then, when the old viewer base is 40, overweight, and still living in their parents basements, they come out with new eipsodes/movies for the new, younger viewer base, who think its awsome and new, and the old viewers get to complain about how the old shows/characters were better. SO, I would expect this to be the last movie for awhile before they go into another 20-year rerun period.

And yes, Jolene Blaylok made Enterprise watchable. Especially the nude scenes.
