How else are we supposed to become a nation of sexually repressed, hyper violent people? Sex and violence are an awesome combination and nothing bad has ever happened when a violent person is mixed with sexual frustration.

I agree with you 100%. I can think of countless times as a child when we would watch the most violent and fucked up horror movies known to man, but couldn't see certain movies because of the partial nudity. Then again, I'm not sure how everyone else's parents did things. There was a point in elementary school where my dad wouldn't allow us to have anything to do with pokemon.
I turned out pretty normal for a person with a hardcore christian father with excessive rules.
Brb, slaughtering some goats.
I remember a few years back, our youth group was talking about monitoring the kind of media we watched, and one of the adults there said something that really stuck with me. He told a story about his son who was 13 or so at the time, how his kid was watching a show on TV that was pretty violent, and he told him he had to change the channel. Later there was a movie on that had some partial nudity scene in it, his wife saw the kid watching it and told him to go make his son change the channel again. He asked why, she said because he made him change it earlier. He replied "Well, I expect one day when he grows up, he's going to have sex. I don't expect him to kill someone."
That's kind of the mentality I've had ever since then.
When I was younger , my parents would change the channel if there was kissing on TV.
Fuck people who talk in the movie theater. Seriously, so many people bitch about it, yet it now happens 90% of the time that I go to the movies. SHUT YOUR MOUTH. Srly, I often thought to myself how it could have gotten so bad, then one time I was watching the first Narnia NARNIA OF ALL THINGS. And there was this dad and I guess his three daughters (some might have been friends of his daughter I don't know or care), and guess who it was talking. The dad. The daughters actually keep whispering for him to shut up because he kept laughing at inappropriate times and wouldn't stop commenting on the movie. THAT"S HOW IT STARTS. I really wanted to turn around and dump popcorn all over his head but I had none.
I wish the movie theaters would higher body guards to stand inside and just throw people out if their talking gets to much. If everyone paid like an extra buck a ticket to pay for the guy, it'd be so worth it.
Biggest. Pet. Peeve. Ever.
^ This.I always feel embarrassed to go to the theater with my friend Alex. He laughs so ridiculously loud and makes all kinds of comments.
I'm one of those guys that would laugh at inappropriate times in the movies.![]()

I can't stand the name "Katrina" I hear or read this name over 100times a day for nearly three years. Everyone now views life before or after katrina as if the world blew up on that day three years ago. If you watch local news which I find myself not being able to do anymore you can avoid some of it but the newspaper gets you.
I understand perfectly how bad that storm was and how many lost either their lives or possessions but isn't there anything else better to talk about? It sucked, why do we got to be reminded everyday about what happened on august 28th 2005? Life goes on, people move on to newer and better things. I can choose not to watch the news or read the newspapers but its still the number one thing people talk about at grocery stores all across the state, it cannot be avoided unless I moved.

"Temporaryism is the black plague and the Jesus of our age." -Brandon Boyd
A fleeting interest is good for divesting humans of negative emotions; it's good that younger generations never care about anything long enough to become infected with a genuine and enduring hatred.
Conversely, it's this same disinterest beyond the "now" that has us itching to flip channels when we hear about anything for more than five minutes, to include tragic, disastrous events that change lives and prove to become a new marker in the history of our country and world, markers that will wind up in our kids' history books. We get antsy and start whining "I'm bored with hearing about this, let's watch something else!"
While this short attention span saves us from miring ourselves in old, ugly habits, we as a people lack the attention span now to appreciate the gravity truly epic events, to include the first black President, the 11 Sept 01 attacks... and yes, Hurricane Katrina.
And what's going with airline food?
Know what really grinds my gears......
The dirty, smelling Hippy on a bicycle I almost hit this morning.
If your gonna peddle on the street, STOP at a red light....and not cut off a unmarked cruiser, and force him onto the side walk. Then, when said cruiser actually pulls you over for a traffic violation.... don't go all high and mighty that you know the law, and that you studied law at (insert no name college here). A officer is the worst person to argue law with, even worse when you claim someone on a bicycle doesn't need to obey traffic signs, like red lights!
What's the deal with this weird hotel custom of leaving a piece of chocolate on the pillow? I awoke thinking my brain had hemorrhaged some sort of fecal matter.

I hate when people constantly light up cigarettes one after another around me, when they know I can't stand the smell. I also hate smelling like other people's cigarettes.
It bothers me when ppl are in the fast lane of traffic and go 70-75 mph... go into another damn lane and drive the speed limit... don't do it in my fast lane when none are in front of you. And its worse when you try to flash your lights to get them to go over to the other lane and they just ignore you... causing "you" to need to pull out of the lane and go around them... well, you and the five cars behind you all waiting for the asshole to speed up or switch lanes
