    How do I kill....

I don't know if other people have NM questions but I figured I'd leave the title open in case.

Anyway, I've never killed Kurrea and some of my guys want the pants. We have peeps to make the soup etc but I've heard mixed things about this guy and wondered how you killed him. Also wanted clarification if stun in any form works on him?

    Thanks in advance!

No stun. Three or four quick darkness or distortion skillchains with a ton of black mages MB'ing will take it down fast, assuming it does not sip soup and get HP back.

Thanks for that. When you say a ton - how many do you mean? We can only lay our hands on 4-6 for most events, although I could prod others. We're fairly melee heavy... although for some reason have access to a heap of SMN!

This fight isn't that hard at all. Just bring a well balanced alliance and baraera everyone. Ice works well. Just hammer away at it until it takes a bad sip of the soup (turns green) and unleash the fury.

I own a pair of the pants, they're pretty nice. Kurrea can be hit or miss. If you're lucky, Kurrea will only get buffs that you don't care about and turn green at an opportune moment. If you're not lucky, well, prepare to zone it and pop another item.

Wiki has all of the buffs listed, the important ones are the health restore buffs. The tactic that worked best for me was to go in with an overpowered alliance, set up those skillchains, and floor him as fast as possible. The longer you take with this fight, the nastier things can get. I think Kurrea and Shen were introduced in the same patch, and similar fighting methods can be applied.

Edit: Oh, yeah, fight him at the shed where he pops and every melee should start out with 300% TP. Tanks are not necessary, they're a party slot that could be filled with a useful DD/NIN. It's really crucial to kill him ASAP since his buffs never wear and he gets one every 30 seconds.

Is King Vinegarroon a zerg only fight? Don't think we have the peeps to take him but kinda curious as I've seen him up a few times.

yup. zerg only. the regen and tp moves he uses are too strong/mp wasting to slowly whittle him down.
When you see him if you have enough friends to kill it, grav it and kite around the bush nearby with a /nin while everyone else get's setup.

What's the best way to claim Bloodsucker if you know the TOD?
Without means of obscure cheating, of course.

I just run through and /check them all, but it has a specific spot on Widescan if you come /RNG. I forget it off the top of my head but pretty sure it's on otherwiki. As far as the actual claim, if you're alone in the zone and have some sort of movement+ you should be able to claim it then train it to the zone and zone it rq, the regular leeches will despawn and you can fight NM at the zone.

Something many people use if you're on PC:
Bloodsucker NM is blue, whereas the normal mobs are red. Change the .dat into anything big like an Aern or w/e, run randomly and prey. Can be called cheating, up to you.

Does anyone know the minimum number of people required to kill Harajnite with a good success rate depending on when it decides to pop? A long time ago I took 4~5 BLMs and a THF on the Manaclipper and it only popped twice in about three hours (once being just before the boat docked). I don't remember clearly how easily we killed it when it popped with enough time left, but I'm pretty sure it pops in and out of its shell quite quickly, based on time rather than damage dealt.

    Any advice would be great.

Looking to get a pair of Rutter Sabatons for a friend, but I have never done the fight and the wiki page is more than a little lack luster in giving me an understanding of how hard the actual fight is.

My jobs: BLM RDM WHM SMN BRD
    Friend's jobs: SAM COR
Dual boxable character: RNG THF MNK NIN SAM

I can say I'm positively not amazing at taking on NIN or THF but my friend is probably better. If possible, think the NM is tankable by SAM with a RDM back up and we can just use the THF for TH whoring or would THF tank with RDM and COR support be better?

    Thanks.

I solo'd it fairly easily on RDM/NIN meleeing it. The only scary thing is flying hip press, that shit sux. NIN and RDM could easily do it. Just slow and para it and have the NIN beat on it.

How'd you deal with repops? That's the only trouble I had with it. Tried duoing twice thf and rdm but each time the repops messed things up enough to cause a loss. Then won with thf rdm blm.

Fight it back towards the cave, nothing will add there.

It's really easy to tank on nin. Sam/nin and rdm could more than likely duo fairly handilly too.

Edit: In the unlikely event that I managed to claim, would nin/dnc and 2boxed cor/something be able to kill KA in a reasonable fashion?

Pretty sure Nin/Dnc could solo him. I've dou'd as Nin/War and Rdm/War, my Nin is pretty gimp, has no merits applied to it except the 4 crit hits and 3 STR at the time. Wore a Hauby +1 the entire time except for during Hundred Fists and managed to kill him in like 14 min or something.

If you have Katana merits and subtle blow merits and a properly geared Nin I'm sure you'd have no problems at all, I'd suggest bringing your NPC to Haste you if you have one.

If I remember correctly, there is a bride a little further down from where you pop it with a bend in it. You have to pull it to the bend and hope no links.
