i can't believe it hits tomorrow night and i still haven't been able to go a full week since 3.0 hit without losing a good 1/4 of my playtime to the mass rampant server instability that it caused.

3.0 was over a gig, I get the feeling there was a lot of front-loading going on there to help in the installation process. Just installing the WotLK beta was a 3-hour affair, assuming you had the disk space.

Do I HAVE to preorder this? I have at least 7 stores in my area that will sell it, are they going to get more copies then they get of preorders? I can't pick it up till thursday after stores open anyway...

No you don't have to preorder, hop by a store like target/toys'r'us/7-11/circuit city/etc and you should find a copy (though calling before hand is preferred). It's usually just the game stores that do preorders that sell out.

Sweet I figured as much. I've never ever had trouble getting a game on release day no matter how popular, but the guy at my gamestop last week scared me. He said they had fallout for ps3 and 360, but not for pc, as they ONLY get the amount of PC games as are preordered, and that if I wanted wow, I'd have to preorder it.

I'm pretty sick right now and going out in 30degree weather is just not gonna happen, so I've been holding off on teh preorder. Thanks for the help. I need to pick 2 copies up, so on thursday morning I'll go pick it up at like 8-10am whenever stores open.

wow is like the pc game that people get tons of. my gamestop doesn't even carry pc games cause we have no market for it, but we get wow in, and in bulk.

I think it will be fine. They are not changing anything between today's maint (which caused additional downtime) and tomorrow when they flip the switch.

I do not know if this stops TBC from being playable, but if it's anything like the torrents/isos going around, it should be fine.

TBC is still playable for most people I believe.

You don't have access to northrend, but you download 2 patches afterwards and once you get your key tomorrow you can go right on.

It's 1.9gb, took about 15? 20min tops? Thats download+install, but I have good connection and 10k rpm drive.

Does anyone know if Gamestop reservations are good at any Gamestop location, or just the one you preordered at? The one I preordered at is in the mall that I work at, but I'll be much closer to my Uni on Thursday afternoon, and would prefer picking it up down there.
