The best advice I can give you is dont give up. You'll have some crappy streaks of losses.Also explain to members abjs are quite rare, so don't expect abjs except for from Odin.

yes, dont expect items from non odin chambers, we have been running a while and got our first item on friday (e legs lol).
I found at start that people getting ampules towards items is good motivation, most will have atleast one ampule item b4 you see a drop from chest.
This works a little while.
I think Im on my way to my 5th ampule item, and we still have only seen 1 Abj. outside Odin's Chamber. We will be doing Odin #7 Saturday.
Einherjar is a fun event, if you cant motivate them to do it just for the fun + Odin loot pool, then you probabaly need to recruit more members.
yea agree with the above
not to mention einherjar is only 30 mins
its not hard to stay focus unlike dynamis where food and drinks will lure you away forever.
Just don't give up, no matter how much of a losing streak you have had. After some x amount of runs, something will click, and you'll be doing Odin every 2 weeks barring a fluke run. My group had horrid luck with tier 3s for a long time, then we started doing the bard rotations like others have said in here, and it's worked out well for us. You'll get used to little quirks of different mob types, and be able to handle them effectively, it will just take some time to get there.
We had our second run on tuesday. Only entered with 16 this time. Didn't win, but cleared everything and got the boss to 12% Would probably have won if one of our brds didn't go AFK without notice, and if I'd waited about 1min before pulling the boss >_<
I'd stress to members, there is never AFK in einherjar, unless its somthing like the house is on fire, or they were just shot.
Ive already told my members that being shot isnt an excuse to afk in einherjar, as most bullet wounds take more than 30 min to kill an individual.
In my shell, the only excuse for AFKing during einherjar is a burning house (must provide pics) and explosive diariha.
We had a real problem with getting enough people when we first started (entering with 15-16 people and a few dual boxed.. timing out in tier1 with most people dead really sucked pre-nerf when you got jack shit from it). Once we started winning some wings attendance shot up and we started getting more apps. Started to build up 4 solid parties, then 5, now we enter with 36 every time (usually 30ish active players, 3 mules, and a couple people dual boxed) and finish most zones with 5-10 minutes left. What really helped was after we beat Odin.. apps went through the roof, so we could start removing the members with inconsistant attendance and/or performance issues. Just stick with it and keep recruiting! <3 Einherjar.
Quick question on this train here. I always go war to einherjar, always bring my tomahawks, but never see a need for them (with the obvious exceptions of skeletons and ghosts). What I'm wondering is, can someone give me a list of mobs that would benefit having tomahawk used on them?
Skelly, Ghost, Clots, Slimes, Flans, Leeches
off the top of my head.
Also its not the 5-10 times you dont need it that matter, its that one time you get 4 waves on Tier III and one is Flans or Clots, and you can't afford to waste time on them that you will be glad you have it.
Flans (including the t2 boss)
Slimes
Clots
Ghosts
Skeletons
Elementals
Doomed? (don't they take reduced slashing?)
Think that's it
Biggest Problem I find is Melee's not restiction themselfs and jst doing that Extra hit that gets them killed!
Aswell As blms AMII'ing @ Start Pulling Bunch of Mobs Into Mage resting Area!
When fighting Skeletons to make the fight easyer try minimiz amount of people on Each mob Normaly 1pld x5/6DDs Works great, reason you sometimes find a happy Drain Eatter and you waste alot of time with 18ppl getting 100hp drain'd from them!
Also need good bard roation try to set the same person all the time, and always give the brds the same songs to cast so they dnt get confuised on Next entry!
We test roation Be4 every entry make sure there isnt a half Job Done!
Normaly we have 3PLDs 1beening Puller and other 2 beening tanks, PLD pulls try and get alot of mobs @least 4mobs When he's pulling you gonna want to make sure he says he's brining Mobs can go Wrong When he dies, So brds normaly ready for sleepga!
We normaly Enter with:
1tank party - Cor Whm Rdm/drk x3plds or 3plds whm rdm. brd or cor
3DD partys - x4DDs 1Mage 1Brd! - Sometimes DD pts dnt get a Mage thow
1BLM Pt - 5blms 1Rdm/drk!!
~~~
Honestly feel the key to success here is know'ing when to stop for Melee's as said above a Dead melee' Deals 0dmg and there's No time for recovery when going onto the mega boss!
Why do people keep bringing PLD's to einherjar (except for Odin) is mind boggling to me...
Ya seriously - don´t bring PLDs if you have the option. The DD´s will have hate on anything that counts. A BRD can pull np unless your sleepers are not paying attention.
Tomahawk reduces magic resistance/-Dmg% too, this is not nearly known enough.
I never go anywhere without Tomahawks, and since finding out it works for magic like Angon for physical almost, I'm going 5/5 Tomahawk.
The best use for Tomahawk outside of Flans/Clots/Skeles is chucking them at anything your Blm's will be burning down, save their MP, they kill more stuff per mp pool, you win easier.
I have 2 people that serve as my puller and AoE hate person (so the brds/blms dont get the shit beat out of them). These people are usually a pld/war (puller) and pld/blm or blu/war.
Having the mobs focused on a couple tanks reduces the chances of your mages being taken out and helps in cases where the mobs just dont sleep well (logi/dogs). Obviously the plds arent engaged trying to keep hate off melee.
I dont see a reason to not bring at least one pld or pld/blm, you have plenty of damage to clean out any tier with just 4-5 damage parties. Why not add some support. Sch+pld goes a long way.
We bring one PLD/nin as a initial puller that pull clumps.
If there is a clump he pulls, and the 3 brds pull a mob off the clump for their party (again we go with 3-4 6 man parties as damage, we all fight our own mob, which greatly reduces AoE issues, and TP spam form mobs.)
The other reason we have one PLD/nin is for Tier 3 Chair boss to hold him.
We could switch the PLD/nin to another job , but it works well for us, and we are efficent with the current setup, and pulling situation.
We use SCH to pull
AOE grav is win.
If my vokers can't voke mobs off sleepers and need DEDICATED PLD's to voke, I would break their pearl.
