How do I get more efficient in salvage with this setup..

You could maybe start a static exp pt with the rest of your salvage group, with yourself and either Tedwardian or Sirjamesta as BRD, either Leerhew or Buttehrs as RDM, and the rest as melee.

I say this because, my own static, when it finally solidified had 12 people, but as time went on it slowly diminished to the 5 remaining that we have now. However, we spent a long period of time with 8-9 people, with usually 6-7 showing up per run, and we were helped immeasurably by the fact that spread among those 9 we had 4 thiefs, 2 rdms, and 3 brds, and almost everyone had a non-THF melee job, and a few people with BLM or SMN to stick in a seperate PT when we had 7. This meant that regardless of who showed up on a given day, we were self-sufficient and rarely had to solicit outside participation or compromise our effectiveness.

I can think of only the boss's which would be a pain in the ass to do w/o a bard and arrapago 6f in 7min.

Your group is quite new, so you can farm 35's while locating a bard to speed your group up and get to know the zones.

With out bard('s) tho, I'de stick to mnk as only melee w/ thf as th whore and support after that.

Well they obviously don't have a bard atm. Until they get one there should be posts saying "you can still do this" even though it will be difficult, instead of joining on the bandwagon.

Edit: Though looking at that setup you don't have a cor either so you're probably screwed for 6f. >.>

We beat every zone without brd a few time...but really, if you're making a brd less static, you're just asking for trouble. Most run will be shitty, especially when the group is new to salvage.


If you happen to go without brd, 3 melee and 3 healer is needed. Bringing 4 melee for 2 healers is going to cause you some problems.

But yes, I do understand most you pts and I have experienced that most runs are tough w/o a brd. When you have to kill the to gears in unison...ive read on a few guides that you bind/gravity them..

My group has some good members and I dont doubt that we cant get the job done..ive considered what you guys said about lvlin bard, and Ive took it upon myself to write down strats specifically to my set up.. not just for more efficiency, more or less for me also

What, you mean for 3F rampart in Bhaflau? You can sleep the triple gear mobs, just not the singles around them. Not entirely sure what this has to do with having a BRD or not, though.

I've never once done a Salvage run without a BRD, so I can't really offer any advice there. Bosses with no Elegy sound unpleasant, but I'm sure that stuff like rampart farming, etc. could be perfectly doable, especially 1F and 2F (which are the ones most people probably want anyway).

They can definitely do it, COR can sub for a BRD too. And I have done runs with boss wins without a BRD. BRD just makes everything easier.

Seriously get a BRD, nothing kills a salvage group more than low morale. Smooth runs will encourage ppl to keep doing salvage, even if they don't see any lv35 armour, at least they know stuffs are going to drop when the day comes.

3F triple gears can be slept easily without ES. I believe the single gears are completely immune.
