I'd go MNK MNK COR BRD WAR RDM THF. A 4th DD makes a noticeable difference in SSR, and COR+BRD is happiness. Just don't let the THF die because they're in the other party.

CC: A THF with either a second source of Flee (Hermes Quencher from AH or chest, or Powder Boots) or a Fanatic's Drink can train the room and then get away to the north to help kill the Ramparts, so you don't lose one of your DD.

    1) Flee (non-JA) or Fanatic to gather the room and lead mobs out to the south
    2) Wait for mobs to get close
    3) PD (if Fanatic off) and JA Flee back north again

Or with a Fanatic's Drink any job can gather the room and then log off in the north hall, but timing is tight to gather the room and get to position in 30 sec so you can log off before it wears. With Fanatic's and non-JA Flee any job can train south with Fanatics and then Flee north just before it wears.

Just 1 healer would be enough though?

Assuming brd has storm fife, evoker's roll, and sanction, as well as possibly af2 hat/morrigan/dalmatica/vermy, I don't see how you can have that many problems main healing. Also there are tons of elixers, megaelixers, mana powders, and ethers in the chest to help you out. I used to think 1 healer in SSR would be a disaster, but the extra dd really speeds the run up quite nicely.

We typically do ssr with mnk nin brd drk rdm thf, we've managed to take all 4 nms on usu > morri> ares > usu route 90% of the time. The drk is great for a quick turtle kill.

In my experience groups that struggle on time take too long pulling the powderkeg area or over farm cells early on. We don't super tank hammerblows room but grab 2 or 3 fomor at a time whilst the thf kites.

one healer is perfectly fine if you don't do boss. A rdm with brd is sufficient. Just don't let 2nd pt DDs melee NMs or tripple gears.

It's actually doable, in fact that's the amount of time you can only afford to spend on LAC if you want beat Hammerblow > Powderkerg > GG3 > turtle > LAC. 12mins will be optimal including time to distribute loot.

Last time we did Hammer>Powder>GG3>Turtle>Boss, it took us 14 mins to kill the boss. We've zerged all bosses before, but LAC has never, ever been killed in less than 10 mins, at least for my group.

How many melee are on LAC? LAC has low defense and its TP moves seem to deal less damage compared to other megabosses, should be ok to put 3 melee on LAC. NIN/DNC or MNK/DNC actually work very well in SSR. Both jobs have subtle blow traits and lv5 Boxsteps = 13% decrease in target's defense though I am not sure if DNC SJ gives the same number.

Do you somehow melee it while its in charm phase? Otherwise there's no way you can completely zerg this boss. It will always take around 15min to kill this boss.

Yeah, a full zerg is impossible unless you like to bring a few lolPLDs into SSR for a Fealty rotation. But it's definitely possible to kill LAC in under 10 minutes while still kiting charm phases. It goes into 90 second charm phases at 75%, 50%, and 25%, meaning 4 minutes and 30 seconds of time where you are unable to damage it (or very limited damage). If your DDs are great (I put 2x MNK, SAM, sometimes a BLM on him) and have some good drinks, it should only take 60-100 seconds to take off 25% of LAC's HP between charm phases, meaning 8:30-11:00 minimum kill time. Of course, getting lucky on drinks like fanatics, atk up, tp regen, and TP wings helps a ton. It's definitely possible to kill him in under 10 minutes without 2hrs. Most of it is just a matter of making sure your melees are re-engaging quickly and re-establishing hate after being charmed. Most groups lose a good 15-30 seconds per charm phase getting their melees established and working out hate.

Back on topic: SSR 35 farming, especially CC, is all just a matter of practice. It's definitely one of the harder farming paths in salvage.. If you guys are unsure of yourselves, try what my group did when we were first starting out - skip Powderkeg or Gyro Gears for more time on CC until you've perfected your CC strategy, as CC is definitely the most troublesome part of the run. Once you can do the CC floor consistently, fitting in the rest of the NMs is just a matter of efficient pulling/killing.

10 min was an exageration, but we did it a few time in 12minutes. And "no 2h" didn't include chainspell nuke since there is no reason to use it before

Actually I am kind of curious, what do your melee use their 2hr on? We usually save 2hr for LAC fight and zerg it after 2nd or 3rd Brainjack.

I can see it being possible to kill LAC in under 10, if you stuck 3 melees on it. We usually go with the traditional style though, and only have our 2 tanks on it. It's probably worth giving a try, since MP isn't an issue on LAC due to the kiting periods of brainjack.

I'm saying I use my 2h on the rampart, because there is a chance I get it back later from the chest.

I hundred fist the chariot to remove pressure on the mages that are keeping the 4 doors slept. I usually ask the other melee(s) to 2H the doors also, they have high HP and you are sure your 2H is not wasted.

We put three DD, WAR/NIN well equipped, BB MNK and a Gungnir DRG on LAC all the time and it will always charm at least 3 times, 74%, 49% and 24% if the timer isn't up on it, which usually happens because it takes time to reestablish after a charm.

Given that you HAVE to go through at least 3 charms, I think 10 minutes would be very difficult.

our group usually use 2hrs on chariot+doors for CC, pointless to use on LAC cuz by the time it's the 25% increments HP, the 2hr usually is still on.

Ah so that's the difference, we usually fight chariot and rampart without 2hr. I guess it doesn't really matter which method is used as long as it gets the job done.
