    Rogue xp builds

Seeing how I've got another 10 levels to get on my Rogue now I've been looking at levelling Specs, I know Combat/Assassination are top choices for grinding but I'm addicted to Shadowstep and Premeditation.

I was using a PvP setup before the Talent Trees changed and going Sword/Dagger using S2 PvP welfare and was planning to stick to the same setup for WotlK grinding; The Sword/Dagger, hoping WotlK greens prove to be better PvE options.

Only thing is I always loved me some daggers, and critting things with an Ambush right off the bat for 1/2 its HP never ceases to amuse me, though granted, it isn't the same in PvP.

Anyone tried any levelling specs focusing on Sub? Preferrably with daggers?

Mashed this up at work earlier which has some nice Ambush/Backstab bonuses whilst sticking to the Sub tree I'm used to and was wondering if anyone has some recommendations on other specs I can use.

I've stayed combat simply because my swords don't leave me with other choices. Rogue levelling specs are dictated by the strongest weapons you can find at your disposal at any given time, so if you've got daggers and love Ambush then I guess Subtlety is for you. But if you want to try Mutiliate that option is open too.

I went Combat for leveling. Killing spree + trinket is like a free kill every minute and Blade Flurry and Adrenaline Rush are great for AoEing packs of mobs you sometimes get.

I hear from guild chatter that there's an awesome mutilate set up everyone uses which basically covers PvE as well as casual PvP (BGs and world)

    The World of Warcraft Armory

However, I might be incredibly wrong. It's something along those general lines which everyone has been banging on about recently.

It looks like it covers PvP and casual PvE, not the other way around. He sacrifices a LOT of damage talents for sneaking around talents.

edit: The cookie-cutter mut spec looks kind of like this: http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ef0exoVbofzZ0xV0hZxb

I forget if rogues like Vigor anymore or not.

Yah, get the Vigor glyph and you get +20, that combined with maybe a 4-set +10 and Overkill makes a great stealth breaking combo

I don't think Glyphs stack with set bonuses. At least, the SnD glyph doesn't stack with 2-pc Tier 4.

i know people like mut but i think combat still reigns. For leveling I can go into a group of 5 same leveled guys and pop blade flurry and killing spree and basically cut them all down in about 10 seconds. the cooldown on that is only 2 minutes and in between that time you can still take 1-2 at a time w/o breaking a sweat. I'd like to see a mut rogue take on 5 guys at once and either survive, or kill them quickly.

plus mut takes to much work to keep going and keeping all your rotations up. I do combat fists so i can get the extra crit from cqc and the armor penetration from mace spec.

I'm still combat swords, mostly because of the extra expertise and extra 'oh shit' buttons in the form of AR, blade flurry and the snare break from imp. sprint.

But the second I get my hands on some epic daggers I'm probably headed to mut.

lycra just tested, glyph of vigor and 4 piece do stack

not surprising since vigor and 4 piece aren't related anyway

Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

    What do you guys think?

Planned mostly for grinding and some PvP ability here and there since I intend to BG.
Serrated blades useful at all with Daggers?

Looks pretty good. I just have one issue with Focused Attacks. It doesn't look that good if it only refunds you 2 energy...but I've never tried a Mut spec so I'm not sure if its better than it seems. Otherwise I'd spend those three points in Master of Deception or 2 in your case. : p

You're probably right, with the new Energy regen just 2 Energy may not be worth the points. Vigor + S2 Welfare already puts out +20 Energy. Going to see if I can get a glyph too.

Why on earth are you getting 3 in camo, 2 in elusiveness and ghostly strike and not getting cut to the chase and hunger for blood. that's a horrible mut build. The ONLY way that you can get a mut build to be as good as a combat build for dps is by having those two abilities and keeping their rotation up. failing that you're dps will suffer greatly.

It's just for xp and casual PvP, I don't instance/raid.

And I am addicted to Stealth and being a sneaky shit. Vanish/Blind timers nice and low are useful too.

Respecced last night and kills were nice and quick with stuff only living past Kidney Shot if I got unlucky with crits.

Planning on this build to 80 since you never really know how useful that extra range is on sap until it's gone.
