Yeah, L4D, moddable portal, and classic games I haven't played might get me to spring for it.
I'm glad they updated the package

Not sure if the Best Buy ad is legit or not, but I've heard from a friend that works management for them not long ago that the deals lined up for BF this year are likely going to be sub par at best.
If it's the actual ad, Best Buy will likely tell them to remove it soon.
I kinda hope there's Blu-Ray deals this year. There's a few movies I'd like to get but not for $30.
Whoa, it's been a year already since I bought my tv lol. Oh damn, I guess I missed VC special @ CC, damn schoo/work.
Fuck black friday, ill be sleeping like a rock and well fed from the day before.
I've never shopped on Black Friday but I want to. I gotta save up for a new computer though.
Speaking of which, how's Cyber Monday?
Seriously.. most deals on Black Friday are hardly great. They sell items for 10% less and call it an amazing deal. You're still way overpaying for a lot of this stuff. I also worked at Bed Bath Beyond, and the markup on all the stuff on the store is outrageous, for a bunch of crap that's made in China, and will fall apart in a matter of months. What a lot of people don't realize with a lot of these "deals" they find in the stores.. is that's it's usually discontinued, or clearance merchandise they couldn't get rid of, so now they're trying to get anything they can for it. And usually it's junk.
Once in a while you'll find a great deal, but you're probably just better off just shopping on the net. Better prices than stores 24/7/365. I worked tons of retail jobs throughout the years, and never once saw a deal that was "OMG if I wasn't an employee, I'd be on line here" Get the fuck out of here. Now that I work in an office, I will not be stepping foot outside into any store. Screw those MASSIVE lines, sheer amount of stupid people, and everything else that is related to Black Friday. It's just a tool for the stores to get the masses in there, and there's enough suckers out there to believe it. All my shopping is either done online, or during the week on my lunch hour.
Edit: Also, a bunch of stores I worked in started calling it "Green Friday" for PC reason. Oh how I laughed at that. It has been and will always be Black Friday to me.
Funny the TVs we got last year were $1700+ at online retailers ($2,000+ at B&M stores...we got it for $1200 each). This is funny because that's how much it's going for on Amazon today. Not saying you're wrong, but yeah, Amazon is selling the TV today for the price I bought it for a year ago on black friday. So yeah, I'll stand my ass in line to save $1000 (we got 2). Forgive me for being a "sucker".
There's a Best Buy across the street from my place, so "camping" this year will be easy-peasy. I really don't know what I'm going for though. New laptop maybe, I dunno.
When I bought my tv last year it was priced at around $850, no tax or shipping included. I got it for $400 + tax during black Friday, so it was huge savings. The current price of my tv is around $600ish now.
I want video game specials and maybe blu rays. Amazon sells them kinda cheapish (bd) $20, I'll definitely get TDK.
Wish there was a Black Friday sell for PS3's D:
That peggle popcap game within the valve pack is random.
camping in line for deals seems a little degrading to me.. fighting off others because stocks are limited, etc.
dunno, maybe just me though.
I work for Best Buy and we were told that yes we were not "giving away" the store this year. After seeing the ad though, its def real. I know some of the things in there are being held in the back for black friday. Good deals on GPS in there. Garmin Nuvi 260w for $190 is a steal.
Black Friday falls on my BDay, and I open, fun
Circuit city ad is up. Lots of home theater shit. Ad looks a lot better than best buy again. BB's sucked last year as well.
fuck black friday man. just go into best buy and talk to the home theater guys 'till you find the supervisor or senior and befriend them. i got a 50" plasma for $899 and a klipsch surround system for $1200. (sticker prices were 1300 for the tv and 1850 for the surround) if you talk 'em up you can work out stuff easy. it's not like they're making commission, so they don't care how much they sell it for and will usually let things go for cost or very close.
Would purchasing at a store be better than purchasing online?
I'm definitely planning on visiting some closing Circuit City's around home this weekend. Excited, looking to buy a number of new stuff:
Storage (~500GB) / Flash Drive
HDTV, ~42" (Costco has a Sharp 42" LCD for $799, might jump on that)
Car Stereo w/ mp3 player jack
Some GPS - donno which GPS is really considered better
That + leftovers should make for a great week.
