I was impressed as well, but I wasn't surprised in the least bit.

I'm hoping he fights Nog as well, I don't think he will dominate Nog like he would dominate Mir. Then people will give the dude some credit at least.

Heavyweight class in boxing and MMA are weak in general. Out of all the Top Heavyweights I can think of now.... I'd rank the top 5 in this order:

    Fedor
    Arlovski
    Nog
    Lesnar
    Mir

I'd love to see Lesner vs. Jackson or even Anderson Silva.

Yeah, if they were to bulk up to HW without sacrificing anything (which is impossible.) Otherwise it would be a one-sided event.

Do you know anything about Lesner's post WWE career? He really does know how to fight...

It would/could be like the old UFC. I still think it would be cool to watch.

I think you're grossly overestimating Arlovski. I love the guy, I like watching him fight, but I don't think he's better than Nog or Lesnar.

I'm going to agree with you here. I've heard good things about Arlovski since he left UFC. I figured the 2 spot was ok till Fedor Annihilated him like he did Silvia.

    Fedor
    Nog
    Lesnar
    Arlovski
    Mir

Here's how Fight Matrix.com has the Top 10 Listed. (This is Post UFC 91). I don't see how people can really whine about UFC having a weak Heavyweight division:

    1 Fedor Emelianenko
    2 Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira
    3 Brock Lesnar
    4 Randy Couture
    5 Andrei Arlovski
    6 Josh Barnett
    7 Junior dos Santos
    8 Gabriel Gonzaga
    9 Tim Sylvia
    10 Fabricio Werdum
Nog, Lesnar, Couture, Junior, Gonzaga, and Werdum (Think he just left though) are all on UFC's roster. I also laughed a little about how they don't have Mir in the top 10.... but have Werdum, Gonzaga, and Dos Santos in there.

People don't complain about UFC having a weak HW division. People complain about UFC having a thin HW division.

Most of the crap I hear is about the "weakness", but then the same people discount Lesnar when the UFC brings him in as a contender.

The same people will say Nog is to old or Mir is "just not the same" if Lesnar beats them too. The only way the guy is going to get any respect is to beat Fedor, which has a snowballs chance in hell of happening.

Like I said, heavyweights in general are scarce in boxing and MMA. There's hardly enough credible heavyweights to go around between the 2 Big Promotions.

it's not that the ufc has a weak heavyweight division...it's just that the heavyweight division, in general, is very thin. there are plenty of fat guys that nobody wants to see on t.v. that claim they're heavyweight fighters and aren't shit...but not a lot of good heavyweights simply because most fighters aren't that big. most of your "big guys" are small heavyweights that would rather cut to 205 and fight then have to face giants like lesner and silvia.

I don't understand why everyone thinks Nog is that old. He's 32. That's one year older than Brock. If Brock can get past Nog, then there's absolutely no excuses to be made other than he beat him fairly. Nog has faced competition as heavy as Brock before, and beat them. Though I seriously doubt Brock will beat Nog.

... Imagine Brock being the first person to ever stop Big Nog.

The UFC's heavyweight division isn't weak, everyone in it is capable of beating Lesnar. The problem is there are like a total of six people that are actual viable heavyweight fighters. The UFC can't just throw people like Roy Nelson in every fight, then it turns into boxing with a fat out of shape fighter. And let's face it, not too many people want to watch fat slobs rolling around on each other.

I think people are more or less equating age w/ the number of fights Nog has had. Personally I think along the same lines as you, it's going to be a good fight regardless.

i like cain velasquez out of the HW division, i think hes only had like three fights in the UFC but every time ive seen him he has simply destroyed whoever he was in there with.

There aren't that many professional wrestlers with the amateur pedigree that Lesnar has.

The only people off the top of my head I can think of that were pretty big in Amateur Wrestling were Kurt Angle...and to a lesser extent...Shelton Benjamin, and Charles Haas. I don't follow pro wrestling that much though so if there's any new guys I wouldn't know.
