That is exactly my point. Mob two hours and player two hours are completely separate abilities with the same name; if they were not, this simply could not happen. And this is the case for ALL two hours, not just the obviously different ones such as Mijin Gakure. If they were the same, then mob Benediction would have automatically started removing status anomalies when the player Benediction did without the dev team even having to think about it, but that's not what happened.
If you want to test how mob Mijin Gakure works, you need to work with Mijin Gakure mobs, not player NINs. Want to test mob Mijin Gakure against Ifrit? Get a SMN in Dynamis, call Ifrit (be sure to use that stupid AF body piece that improves avatard elemental resistance), and wait for the mob to blow up. Do this several times to compensate for random flukiness of elemental resists. Then you'll know.
Assuming he works the same way as other NIN mobs, the easiest one to test with is Muu Buxu the Elusive in Campaign. He's always exploding.
When they are mage, they usually cast they own 80 points Barfira, effectively overwriting mine 123 points (+ 15 MDB).
God I just hate that ....
I didn't think that could happen, I thought it would just say that it has no effect on player based on the fact they have a higher one already casted on them.
Some buffs won't overwrite higher tier buffs. Shellra/Protectra won't overwrite a higher tier.
Bar-element/effect will overwrite at a lower tier. And yeah, that is irritating.
There's a few ways around this that can help. The problem is all the retards screaming they need barfira, or blaming their mijin death on the fact that they didn't have it.
1. Don't fucking WS on NIN mobs in Dynamis. It's not a 100% method of keeping them from using Gakure but it sure as shit helps.
2. Have a BLU cast Diamondhide.
3. Tell them to suck it up and stop being a bunch of whiny pussies.
I do it on BRD to enrage Thorny
:D
I blame the parents. Have you ever thought of turning off the TV, sitting down with your Vanguard and Kindred, and hitting them?
Did Sandy last night. First two mijins did 700ish each to the whole party with shell 4 on (no bars) killing the taru BLM both times. After that I put Barfira on (as RDM), and didn't have another high mijin all night.
I know the Bar didn't make a difference, but maybe the Orcs didn't. Everyone knows how dumb Orcs are...
People with this attitude usually shouldn't play WHM =\
Mijin is affected by 2 things: How much HP he has and how much you've currently angered the SE gods. I've seen magic DEF+ magic damage down 120+ barfire geared PLDs kiss the floor taking 1800 damage while a berserked war without any mages in his party, right next to him, takes 300. About the only thing you can do is try to not let it go off, like other people said. Killing NIN mobs fast under half HP usually prevents max mijin damage from doing more than 200-300 damage to the aoe.
A tank can't really target his rage towards a single person, slack off and you endanger people you actually care about!
That being said, I'm content with 5/5 Shellra V.
People who ask for Barfira for Mijin get put into the same category as people who make fun of me for not having Protectra V. Yeah, sure, that'll definitely help you. I'll get right on that...
the answer is less taru melees, yeah?
nothing like some melees with under or barely over 1k HP, praying they live~
So i was doing sandy last night and we get to the manor where the 5 nin mobs are. I took notice to the damage people took and what HP% mobs were at if/when they did mijin and by far without a doubt it is HP based on the mob. 1 mijin'd at 2% and i personally took like 40 damage but another Mijun'd at 30% and i took a lot more than 40 damage. No change in buffs either.
On a side note i didn't think this thread would hit 2 pages lol.
