I thought you meant just doing enough quests to get to 80 haha. Dailies are another story.

well, a lot of the northrend questlines, particularly in storm peaks/icecrown, exist only to unlock hubs for dailies. Not doing them as you level up is kind of insane :D

Ok, just dinged 80 earlier today, and im sitting at 536 defense, which heroic instances are better for getting used to running them & will have more of a benefit over others?

Arcana, you have to factor in alot of things, such as, what gears are the worst for me? What instance drops the most tanking drops I need? Some of the key heroics that you should run IMO; Heroic UP, for the tanking sword(though it's probably not that big of an upgrade), Heroic CoT(for the shield, most likely one of your bigger upgrades), Heroic Gundrak is pretty good as well; drops a pair of epic tanking gloves, and a nice helmet. H Azjol Nerub has the stamina trinket for heroics in it, as well as a tanking belt; Heroic Ahn'kahet: the Old kingdom, has a ring and wristguards from it as well.

Well since we've established that jotp works, if I were running prot atm I'd already have respecced to have that immediately.

Other than that, just going off what I remember not looking specifically, only thing I can think of is that bene is pretty bad for prot really. But it's not bad enough to "cringe" over or anything.

I always run with a Prot warrior in my raids, and never do 5 man content on my paladin anymore, so I put the points into Divine Guardian. Being able to reduce a tanks damage by 60%, while reducing the raid's damage by 30% when not main tanking is pretty hot.

Benediction is more for soloing mana efficacy than anything, but I'm open to suggestions of where to put the points that would be better.

Yeah I was thinking it looked like you built around being able to offtank just as well as main tank, which makes the DG and Benediction quite valid choices. Especially if you usually have a ret or a holy that keeps hotc'd judgements up all the time.

I still don't see getting rid of JotJ even if you have a dedicated OT. For a LOT of fights the OT is actually somewhere else on another mob and cannot debuff for you, as well a paladin changes nothing to keep that debuff on a mob, warriors at least do. Your OT cannot keep that debuff on your mob all the time during:

Anub'rhekhan, Grand Widow, Noth, 4 Horsemen, Kel'thuzad (in 25-man at least, I just tank the two adds and keep the OT dpsing in 10) and Sartharion with any drakes up. A few of these fights are actually somewhat dangerous (widow when enraged, Sartharion with drakes up) so I wouldn't want the debuff to drop off the mob. As much as I'd like the extra 2% crit I could gain from taking out the talents I don't think I can justify giving up that much potential damage reduction.

I think the idea is that he would be the offtank, therefore having to deal with mana issues and too much mitigation being somewhat counterproductive.

I usually main tank given Paladin's superior hate production & being the best geared in the raid right now, the talents were a hold over from BC raiding when I mainly off tanked as I'd joined the guild after the other 2 tanks had been well established. I shuffled points around, thanks for the reccomendation.

Anyone got any recomendations on what to buy with emblems of heroism?.
I currently have the shield libram and tank necklace for starters, but beyond that i dont see anything overly outstanding to get.

I'm still using the belt, it's quite good. But past that, go for account bound items for your alts <shrug>

BoA items to play around on alts, otherwise just save them imo. There will eventually be better gear from badges, so might as well be able to buy t8 the day it comes out, right?

Are they making t8 available through badges? Also, highly suggest getting the belt, considering it's pretty good for it's low cost, I also got the tanking trinket from the badge vendor, but it doesn't seem to be getting used that much =/. Don't buy t7 with your badges though.

yea, i was gonna just run raids for the t7 set, the belt looked pretty good, and with the additional socket that can be added just makes it that little better. i was looking at BoA items, but then again, most of my alts are around 60~ so im not sure really how much benefit they will get off them, assuming that the stats work on a per level basis.

The problem with the belt is that I like the Naxx10 belt better, which comes from Instructor Razuvious and he only requires you have the people to get through the trash as he's an easy kill. And the Naxx25 belt upgrade is from Maexxna and I believe most guilds clear the spider wing first so it shouldn't be too tough to get that.

The BoA items are excellent. Unlike FFXI level sync'ing and such, they keep all of their stats the whole time (well, not all of them at level 1...but yeah) and get better EACH LEVEL. If any item while leveling up is better than a BoA item, it won't be after another level or two as the BoA item will get better. Just stick a nice enchant on a weapon and level away.

For a more precise description, the two-handed axe has 71 DPS at 62. The DK quest gives a 50ish DPS weapon. The BoA plate shoulders were an upgrade at 61 over the Ramps quest shoulders (instance quest rewards are generally the best you'll find while leveling).

Also, there's no internal cooldown on the trinkets that restore 2% health/mana. Though I don't have the health one to check if they stack with each other. But my boomkin hurricanes mobs and as they all die at once gets mana back for each one, 4-5 kills in the same second.

Don't get a BoA weapon for DK, you can't runeforge it.

While true, at least until 70 the better weapon stats will help you more, imo. I'm pretty sure the 17ish dps and str/stam/crit I gained from the weapon helps me do far more damage than cinderglacier...
