I'm really excited about Jeuno's Lure of the Wildcat being fixed. It's stupid that the annoying quest is there yet no reward (becides a shiny coin?).
The sales tax bit will either hurt or help... I'm so used to 100 mules in BDowns now, it might be tricky to roam Jeuno looking for them now.
Awesome that theyre adding xp bands to xpansion areas. No more hoarding CP! Can finally use some of my racked up IS.
Hope a lot more is released at fanfest. These are just adjustments, not updates >.<
I read the thread regarding more macro lines (Since that's what I'm most interested in) and I cannot believe how many people are against changing gear. Almost all of the people on Wiki agree that changing gear isn't an acceptable practice. Maybe that's why SE doesn't give us what we truly need.
Somehow I don't see Jeuno getting back the traffic it used to have since you know... everything is centered around whitegate these days. Assaults, nyzul, salvage, einherjar, besieged, exp camps, even crafting guilds.
For those that still leave their homepoint in Aht Urgan, Jeuno to Aht Urgan is only 1 warp away with a level 18 BLM, so it doesn't change things much for them.
What I would prefer to see is being able to skip the airship travel time by paying 500g and have an instant form of travel from city to Jeuno.
Not that Jeuno -> Whitegate is a bad idea, it just won't do what SE wants it to do without giving the old zones more content.
1. Experience Point Band re-charge locations changed: Who cares? Honostly if getting an imperial silver-coin to travel to your home nation or Jeuno is too much trouble, maybe you should consider playing WoW. Why is this being changed? Just makes lazy people more lazy.
2. Sales tax imposed. Wow this is a huge improvement let me tell you. Who cares? This shouldn't have even been in the game, wtf is a tax anyways? Pointless.
3. Teleportation via Jeuno ~> Aht Urghan. Who cares? This is just another way to baby lazy gamers who cant deal with having their home points in either Jeuno or Aht Urghan. WEAK!
Its funny how square is trying to baby FFXI gamers now. Pretty soon FFXI gonna be WoW.
Oh man, bazaar's back into upper jeuno like it was 4 years ago.Pretty basic stuff that should have been fixed years ago. A good start never theless Now if SE would only crack down on the RmT price fixing on behemoth hide and khroma ores.
It's time unnecessarily wasted. I don't see why people who don't want a feature turn against said feature. If it's not something you don't wish to take advantage of, then don't do it. Allow everyone else to get their rings charged at Aht Urghan and you can go to your home nation and charge it. Seriously, unless it's a game dynamic that forces everyone to be affected (aka giving more abilities or changing the difficulty of monsters), I don't see why people bitch and moan.
Well now people have the option of selling gear within the safe walls of the city. Again, why complain?2. Sales tax imposed. Wow this is a huge improvement let me tell you. Who cares? This shouldn't have even been in the game, wtf is a tax anyways? Pointless.
The player base does. Your argument? WEAK!3. Teleportation via Jeuno ~> Aht Urghan. Who cares
Of course these changes aren't top priority for most players, but that doesn't mean they aren't accepted. It would be nice if players had the option to selectively download some updates (Of course I'm not talking about updates to battle or gameplay, but rather tweaks) to see if the people whining about it would download the content or not.
Lets not forget some actual reasons for players to milk the hell outta WoTG, seeing thats where all the newer content should be going. The newest expansion still gives a new player few reasons to buy it before turning level 50 for the Campaign content and we're a year in already.Originally Posted by BRP
Conquest is great and all but unless SE tossed an EXP bonus for regions controlled by X nation, no one is going to be motivated to participate in taking back zones. Conquest is pretty laughable at this point, no one gives a damn. I personally only care when regional vendors get locked down because an area goes Beastmen or the inability to OP back to town.
There is very little SE could do at this point to re-invent Conquest because the process of taking back zones is so monotonous (compared to Besieged and the newer Campaign) and outdated that it'd take something substantial to move anyone.
Conflict? It could use work but honestly when the devs cant even get PvE tweaks for many jobs down in an acceptable amount of time so the thought of them sidetracking themselves with PvP content would be a recipe for disaster.
EXP Camps, Garrison, Eco-War? I fully agree that they all need some work. The thing all 3 have in common is that they need some rewards to actually make it worth the while. Further changing up the process of EXP (incentives to stray off the beaten path) would only serve to better the game for new players and old players tired of the same grinds to 75.
Garrison with actual rewards would also serve to be a pretty damn good practice event for Campaign especially if EXP rewards were handed out for participation..... ah the dream.
Lets hope some of the real issues are addressed in further announcements.
Except that it's pretty clear that it's not just the locations that are being added, but AN and IS can be used to recharge the rings in addition to CP. Given how no one parties in conquest areas after level 50, this adds a convenience for players. OTOH, you could also argue that if SE really wants people to get back to the old areas instead of spending all their time in AU, then this change is pretty counter-intuitive.
At most, I think the bazaars will move just inside the zone they were in. You'll find bazaars at the zone to Batallia (or the zone to Rolanberry if you are on one of those servers.)
Damn, i cant MPK with Goblin Diggers anymore?!
What the hell, SE! You ruined another source of fun for players!
Sounds all good so far, like the Jeuno to WG teles, also the removal of tax (which should have been doone in the first place but meh). Exp rings a time saver when lvling a job 50+. Just happy can afk again in Jeuno for bazzar...just in time for Christmas as well
~edit
Forgot no more flea market outside Port Jeuno....tg hate that music.
And by "50", you mean "41", at least in my experience. The basic problem is that SE wants to move people out of AU, BUT the 10% XP bonus keeps us there, because it's fucking broken. Even a fairly shitty party in AU is better than a mediocre one anywhere else (which we're virtually guaranteed post-50 if the candy's up and it's NOT in AU these days).
A great party in AU is simply untouchable.
They can't take the 10% away from AU, because that'd piss everyone off, but from a development point of view it was a big mistake. The Sigil/Signet bonuses are nice, but I still think the EXP rings (intended, according to SE, to revitalize EXP in the West and aid lowbie/solo XP) should have only worked with those two, not Sanction. Do the math, for an average Meripo you're pulling 3-5 merits. 2 Emperor Band charges will get you ~4,100 extra XP; 10% over 4 merits, or almost 15% over 3. Likewise, 4.1k is 10% of most of your average levelling sessions (1 high level or a couple lower ones). It just doesn't feel so fast when the bonus isn't up on every kill.
Even without warps or a chicken, it takes maybe 10 minutes more to get to Nyule birds when the Candy is down. And yet, at least on Phoenix, it tends to be a ghost town within hours. The XP is still fantastic, but not game-breakingly awesome anymore...
I like Jeuno and whenever I go there I feel sad how it's become a ghost town (kinda like a town centre when a new shopping mall's opened) - so anything that revives it is a welcome thing in my mind.
Emp band recharges is just one of those minor things that removes an irritation - not that I'm exactly hurting for CP anyhow.
Too little too late etc
They better add at least 8 combat merits this patch, seems they have been increasing it once per year anyway, although they should just stop pissing about and make it unlimited as with Magic and stats and others. If you put the effort in you deserve to be fucking rewarded.
