For some reason I still feel that whitegate could be the home point of choice for most people, seeing as how its easier to port to your home nation from there (unless they plan on putting a npc for that in jeuno too)

I'll just set HP in home nation, most likely.

EDIT: I realize that airships exist, but when people are going somewhere they don't really want to wait 15 minutes for the means of transportation. I don't think Jeuno will become a central hub for players unless they made NPCs in the home nations to port us to jeuno, since any Teleport Route goes like this

Whitegate : Teleport to Jeuno or Home Nation.
Jeuno : Airship to Nations, Teleport to Whitegate.
Nations : Teleport to Whitegate, Airship to Jeuno.

While it can be debated which one is more useful for any certain person, I feel that most people will still see whitegate more convenient.

Why not? It isn't the first thing SE has taken from the Suggestions forum. Weapon tassels became grips, liquid gear became gear scaling(however poorly implemented), Sublimination, Level Sync, etc..

is anyone kinda interested that they refered to whitegate as "West Aht'Urhgan"... I don't think i've ever heard the pol page refer to it as that, usually it's "the east" or "near east" or "aht'urhgan". the fact they specifically said "west aht'urhgan" makes me feel that they're hinting to maybe the location of the next expansion.

They refer to "Western Aht Urhgan" several times in the early missions of ToAU, because the empire is supposed to be very large and the areas we have access to are only the westernmost part of it. IIRC, they also say there are two capitals in the empire and Al Zahbi is the Western capital, there's also an Eastern capital.

At most, I think the bazaars will move just inside the zone they were in. You'll find bazaars at the zone to Batallia (or the zone to Rolanberry if you are on one of those servers.)

We could tell you the same "one of those", I think most servers have Rolanberry as the bazaar zones with only a few on Batallia/Sauromugue.

Don't forget Outpost warps from home nation too. Home nation by far is still the most efficient home point for someone to have for speed of travel. Also to mention that Maws are close to home nations too so you can spend 2 minutes walking to a maw if you dont have BLM leveled or don't feel like asking for a retrace.

Not really, I can walk outside the whitegate mog and hit the warptaru in about 15 seconds and be standing infront of my OP NPC in my home nation.

My opinion is that hometown HP is for cheapasses like myself who do like some speed but like for it to be free/cheap.
Whitegate is for people who just want speed and don't care much about the cost. (Retrace[unless you're BLM]/Silver Pieces)

It's the Mayan calender that ends not the Aztec's calender. And it's not a myth invented to sell books. The system they use to count days is a base-20 numeral system and just kinda runs out of numbers around the winter solstice 2012.

I'm staying in home nation. With my HP set in Windy:

nation: free (just Warp)
Outpost: cost of outpost
Whitegate: 300G (and you're right by Colosseum, if you need to get camera/plates)
Jeuno: 300G+Flee+imp.silver, or 200G+afk for 20min

Plus I get easy, quick access to furniture storage. With HP set in Whitegate, pretty much every travel option outside of Warp requires imp.silver.
