Took me about.... 4-6 months to get COR to 75. But when I started I had over a mil on me so yeah..... >_>
As much as I would love to see SE do it, I cannot see them ever making it possible to spend Nyzul Tokens on Salvage. The reason is, the moment they make that change, nobody, nobody will do any of the other assaults beyond rank up or certain items.
But, that's what people do anyway, spam only a few assaults! As you say above, people only spam RVB. Not great reward in it. Yet, there is a reward for simply doing Nyzul Isle. And SE will never suffer us to get a reward for doing something like getting AP for Salvage.
Cut permit cost by half, even if SE drop the cost to 1k assault point it will still make a huge difference in long run.
<Zasshal> Oi, I see you 'ave a Cap'n Wildcat Badge... Your Assault tags be worth a lot more than the ones a mere rookie would carry!
<Zasshal> 'ow about this; an even trade. Your assault tag for a permit to enter one of the ruins. We 'ave a deal? (Hahaha, I can get twice the Assault Points with this beauty!)
[Yes]
[No]
No --> Prompts you to the normal "So what will it be" menu.
Oh how we can dream.
If Salvage was dropped to 1k AP people could actually win pretty much any Assault and be able to enter Salvage - pretty awesome when your stuck grinding for fucking HQ appraises that might as well not exist. That'd be a pretty awesome change.
While im stuck ranting about HQ appraise rates - could we seriously get a fucking improvement in the rates? Seeing 2-3 HQs in hundreds of runs is D.ring status on whats supposed to be "Casual" content. Doing 50+ Wamoura Farm Raids and never seeing either HQ appraise is just beyond fucking retarded, lets not even go into Imperial Code or RvB....
Seriously.... stick the HQ appraise items on the item vendors when you have a Captain badge and charge appropriately for them. You could even call it "Assault gets a Makeover!" and advertise it as new content.
I think it was their intention to prevent someone from being able to do Nyzul and Salvage every day of the week.
Instead of timers like 2 or 3 times a week, they let the player decide with their assault tags. I don't think they expected people to do Salvage 1:1 for every assault(the drop rate may say otherwise). Of course, such reasoning is shadowed by MOAR.
Also IS is bad. Throwing exp grinding at something doesn't fix it. At least Nyzul tokens spend Assault tags.
EDIT: Captains should get more benefits concerning Assault. Like a reduced cost for permits. At that point this person has experienced every piece of content from Assault available so cut him some slack of the grinding.
I've had plenty of new meat in my LS go from low teens to 70+ in about the same time. And especially now with lvl synch, a newb getting into a friendly LS could easily get 75 from scratch in four months.
What bugs me the most isn't just the low chance of getting an HQ appraisal, but the fact that said low chance is mixed with the same low chance of even getting the correct ??? to attempt to appraise. Between getting other items...or even getting an item at all, and all the other things a ??? item can turn out to be, the potential for getting a good item is damn near microscopic. I've been doing assaults consistently for well over a year, and the amount of R/E items I've seen so far is two. And the amount of overall HQs appraisals I can count on my fingers.
I agree with everything said in this post.
On topic:
Anyone remember back when SE was releasing ToAU content, yet people would always ask about old world stuff? SE's response was always "We'll go back and fix the old stuff as soon as we're done adding the new". And with WotG so far...that's exactly what they've been doing. There is just as much, if not more, content added to fixed older content as there is for WotG content. Maybe that's why WotG feels so "light" so far, much of the stuff they're adding and fixing is centered around the original game's problems. Dynamis has been adjusted, newbs get an easy and comprehensive tutorial, Exp gain has been completely revolutionized, numerous pop HNMs have been instanced, and a lot of little things, small "annoyances" that have plagued this game for years are being addressed. So does this mean that perhaps, in some way shape or form, SE has actually kept a promise it made and is attempting to fix older content?
Also, HQ kings need to be instanced, Eco-Warrior needs to be cancelable, high lvl Garrisons need better drops, and choco racing needs to be fixed so people actually give a damn about the Chocobo Circuit.
I sincerely doubt it since it was never mentioned in any update notes ever. You may be thinking of the dungeon escort quests. If Eco War is cancelable...then great, but it wasn't the last time I checked. And there really should be no reason for it to not be cancelable.
salvage should be free but have a 20hr cooldown on it ;( I mean, you'd think that motherfucker would have enough AP by now.
I'd rather the Windurst, Bastok, and San d'Oria auction houses be merged into the Jeuno/Aht Urghan one. This is the only real setback for players setting their homepoints in the 3 cities.
