Does it irk anyone else to see a guy who's pld has B. Mask, Ares' body, Dring, valor cape, etc. then doesnt ever come pld to events? like give the damn gear to somebody that will Use it.

Not to derail this but elegy and slow 2 do not make someone the best tank. By all logic if your support sucks, the tank will. If both are totaly amazing, its the tank which will shine. Say you forget to elegy and slow II tia, the tank isn't gonna live long. So I really doubt if the support played the "gimp today" card, that tank will infact suck. He might be a good pld whom can manage hate easily but that gear does not give any help to your claim, i'll stop this derail at this post.
