THF/DNC that tried to solo the Phantom Worm the other night. He was fighting for over half an hour with no gear swaps, died with the worm at 8% (had it as low as 4% at one point, but his DD couldn't keep up with it's regen).

I realize that there are far worse BLMs out there, but I figured I'd follow with the theme of the topic. For the record, the only HQ staff he has is ice.

That's what I would think. Maybe the poster was just annoyed that someone without a Pluto's would get Novio and Ixion Cape off LS kills. If he bought them, then yeah, he's pretty special.

Actually though, I would say the Snow ring should have been lower priority for this guy. On my server Pluto's staff and Snow Ring are around the same price, and Pluto's is definitely better than 1 extra INT over Diamond Ring.

Actually Mahatma on my server is more expensive than Jet. And lets take a look at this guy. He's elvaan, guessing from the RSE feet that only Elvaan's wear. An Elvaan Black Mage....hmmm. What stat would he struggle with?

MP! Jet has MP. Mahatma does not. Staff strap has more MP than Bugard. Elvaan RSE feet have MP and INT, pretty decent if you don't have Yigit/Cobra Crackows. Seriously, he's not awful. Is this the gimp thread or the nitpicking whiner's thread?

One HQ staff is a crime against God and country? If a mage is not your priority job, then having a full set of NQs is just fine with me. The Warrior that callisto posted is gimp. This BLM was not.

I only have one HQ staff, but my BLM is a gimp on two legs that doesn't do any endgame stuff, so it's cool. Nobody suffers from my fail. And I'm not 75 yet.

No, this BLM is not "terrible" per se, but it's a BLM's priority to do damage, not have shitloads of MP. Those legs should be Mahatma, and those feet should by Cobra (or at the very least, Yigit). It's not said what it is, but that belt should be either P. Rope or RSE.

And if he really wants MP, he can shell out for the elemental grips, they have a 20 HP-MP conversion with increased magic accuracy for fewer resists. Lastly, BLMs don't have to have every HQ staff, but you should aim for Aquillo's, Jupiter's, and Pluto's at the very least.
