Some people mentioned deep-fried turkey on page one. Alton Brown on Good Eats did an entire episode on deep-frying turkey, including his own custom made turkey frying derrick.

Deep-fried turkey sounds absolutely awesome to me, but I don't think anyone does that around where I live in Western Canada. At least with Canadian thanksgiving in more sensible October one could easily cook outside just about anywhere in the country that's not a territory and not freeze. (Although here in Victoria we grow palm trees outside all year long so cold for us is like 9*C)

I'm not gonna get to have an epic dinner this year, my Mom wants to take us out to a japanese restaurant called "Todai". Should be fun I guess, but I want loads of mashed potatoes and turkey and mac n' cheese. D:

todai is shitty, I've eaten there a couple of times. cost effective though.

Cost Effective... maybe (depends on their "buffet" spread, I didn't like the Todai here in SD); since it's Thanksgiving, I'd say you're better off going to a formal sit down and order Japanese Restaurant.

And yes... mashed 'tatoes, turk-turk-turk-tuuuuuurkey and mac-n-cheese is where it's at!
