NORV IS THE ANSWER
no but really, apparently tonight on NFLN they will be doing a story on how losing Lights Out is what's F'ing up the chargers so badly. something about spiritual defensive leader or some such BS, when i hear his name all i think is Roids Roids nummy nummy Roids.
merriman's bailed out the chargers in so many 3rd and 8's it's rediculous. I even remember him sacking Peyton manning in a couple crucial situations last year.
He might not be the reason why they're sucking ass chunks, but they're certainly a different team with him than without.
Yeah I think they are going to give Norv one more shot but this time with Merriman and see how it goes. Anything less than an AFC title game appearance/win next season he should be ousted. He's a fucking douche anyway. With that talent they have no reason not to.
I called it last week! Fassel wrote Al Davis a letter saying he wishes to coach the Raiders. He is and always has been one of the most desperate coaches ever, I mean really? You don't really have to BEG the Raiders to coach and be fired in a year, they pretty much do that to any and every one.

I understand having the desire to get back into coaching as a Head coach, but why resort to that level? Groveling at the feet of Al Davis sets up you for failure. IMO this will do more to hurt his future prospects of a coaching position rather than help it. Davis is a control freak and will not let go of control of the offense, defense, draft etc.. until someone pry's it from his cold dead claws. I've always liked Fassel sort of, but why go to this extent?
Being a head coach of the Raiders makes you a fall guy? If you win, the credit will go to Davis for making the right hire, drafting McFadden etc...Fassel will not see a bit of the accolades imo. I dont know, seems a bit far reaching for me.
Chad Johnson is on the bench for "violating team rules".

Damn Chad.
Fuck me.
Excited giant fan checking in. Dreaming of a Jet/Giant Superbowl! I think the Jets can get deep into the playoffs, but I still don't get why everyone is on the Favre bandwagon. The team would have 8 wins but they lost to the RAIDERS! If they get to Tampa, it'll be in spite of Favre, not because of him in my opinion.
I'd love to see the Giants win in Arizona this week but it's not a must win game, I think they should rest Jacobs if his knee isn't 100%. They still have 2 backs (3 if you count Droughnes) who are more than capable backs to get the job done.
That being said I hope the Giants get some serious Pro-Bowl love this year. They have a ton of underrated players (offensive line is obvious example #1) and I think they should all get a trip to Hawaii!
Yeah, outside of our D-line, the Giants players are always underrated. I think that Fred Robbins, Justin Tuck, Jacobs, and possibly Antonio Pierce all deserve good consideration.
The o-line obviously deserves to go as a unit, but it's hard to point out 1 or 2 who really stand out over the rest. Maybe Snee? idk.
We're playing a good spoiler.
The defense is going to have to step up tonight, since 2/5 of the OL is injured with a 5th round (?) rookie getting his first start and first big set of play, and now CJ being benched.
I'm all for this being a close game tonight, but a close low-scoring game. I have the Steelers D in fantasy and need points!
It seems like the Raiders are at least good at playing big in big games. They beat the Jets, and then stayed close in the Panthers and Dolphins games. That being said, I really don't see the Jets being where they are without the acquisitions they made during the off-season. Favre was just one of those that got lots of media around the deal, but he won't be the sole reason they make it far in the playoffs, if they do. I think the main reason they are where they are is basically the toughening of the lines. For example, last year TJ had 1 rushing TD all season, and in 10 games this year he already has 8. Favre is just part of the equation to me at least, not really the answer
The Raiders and Lions are trap teams. Tampa better watch out Sunday lol.
