The sad part is that any witch hunt that follows will be started by mobs of angry immigrants, which kinda proves their point in joining the party in the first place. Sucks for them that they lost their jobs, the BNPs reputation is much worse than it's bite and they won a fair share of the vote last election compared to previous results due to the currently less than effective policy on immigration. I'm assuming that link to the story about the housing thing is the one that "costs" £12,000 a month. That was mostly due to the estate agent rather than anything else, though it is still one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.

What would be more interesting to see would be a list of contributors to the party's funds.

I find the BNP's views abhorrent and them to be a party populated generally by fucking wazzocks (not to mention the punchup one of their candidates got into with the anti-nazi league protesters at the local government election count I got dragged along to) but I do object to how people have been demonized and are getting hate mail over their personal political views. I've also never ever signed anything as a teacher saying I wouldn't belong to X disapproved political party - yet teachers are on the list of people panicking about their jobs over this. Although they're in no way at all my personal political views, I just dislike the idea that the state feels it has the power now to tell me where my politics should lie.

I guess I'm just uncomfortable over the freedom of speech and political opinion aspect over this - and the fact that people are allowed to belong to black police associations, asian community interest groups etc - but turn the colour issue the other way and there's a storm and people potentially losing their jobs... it just doesn't sit quietly with me in a supposed democracy.

Don't know if I've made the point as eloquently as I could have done - think my brain's still stuck in a traffic jam on the M1.

I would say I am really educated on both aspects. I am simply slightly ranting about the slight minority. It's not jealousy, but really "what are you thinking?" type things.

I have been very worried about the deleterious effect that over-population has been having on the UK: lack of housing, congested roads and trains, poor education, lack of social cohesion. And we are not allowed to say this because we are deemed to be racist.
