I personnally like alot Kornemuz solo on Asura. He had done alot of things as thf and then nin. Most impressive of all being hiss recent Ash dragon as nin/dnc, without any help for adds.
He also have done Zoraal Ja's Pkuucha and Kreuzet as thf/nin, and then, when Wotg came out, Zoraal, Kreuzet, Charyb, Ash dragon, as nin/dnc. Fun as hell to see ^^ and some are pretty challenging (ash dragon, it was his 8th try or something like this). Nin/dnc really is impressive for straight tank solo.
He did Aquarius Pld/Rdm last night when we were getting me a few more WS points on mah Sturdy.
Pld/Rdm is a brick.
Pld/Dnc is a sponge.
Punching a brick doesn't hurt it, but you're not gonna get anywhere punching a sponge either, it just keeps bouncing back.
The difference between the two fights: /Dnc, he didn't need his MP at all, may as well have been nuking with Holy. /Rdm he didn't drop below 1100 HP, and only got that low once because he whacked his Blaze spikes macro instead of Regen, and screwed up a stoneskin recast bitching about it. He did get low on mp and pop Chivalry around 15% though.
If chivalry gave back mp for % damage delt, I could solo SE's dev team Q.Q
SCH/NIN, kept Sandstorm up on myself because I had desert boots up so I could pull down to the river. Once Draketrader was in the river I kept geohelix on it and just kited it up and down, using Sublimation and Parsimony to keep my MP relatively decent. Sigil helps out a lot, and if you have an Ixion Cloak I'd recommend getting it. He's easy to solo because if you're out of range on jumps he'll stop for a few seconds as if he's stunned. Gives you plenty of time to recast shadows.
I solo'd WotG Mission 7 BCNM on pld/rdm. The thing that made it epic was fighting the last 15% with only 286 hit points, due to curse.
Thanks. Should have guessed it was going to be a dot + shadows.. Oh well, I'm not fond of marathon runs, since I've done my fair share on bst. We'll it's something to try when I get there, and get the cloak too. Still need more practice with dark arts though. I get hammered in campaign in that mode solo...
Ya sorry, work has me going a million miles a hour atm with clean up and getting ready for a RM/VP visit. Hmmm Wedn night or Thurs Ill try my hand at this.
Aquarius and that WOTG Dragon on PLD/RDM were really easy.
I'm very interested on the XKnife BC Tekki, best of luck.
Is there a video of rdm soloing x's knife bc? I'm really interested in this.
actually, i thought suzy was fairly easy. the first hour or so before it ran out of mp really sucked, but firaga itself wasn't even that big a deal. i resisted most of them with my lousy ~180 resist i had for it, and unresisted damage was still only like 700 or so iirc. after it runs out of mp it's a joke, and it's pretty easy to tank even without slow (which builds resistance fairly quick; before it runs out of mp).
and although seiryu isn't nearly as "epic", it was much, much harder.
all of the scnm nms are immune to bind/grav/sleep.
i remember seeing one somewhere, maybe youtube? if not i'll see if i can find it when i get home if no one else has.Is there a video of rdm soloing x's knife bc? I'm really interested in this.
Seiryu does not build resistance to Slow, lol.
Also calling complete and utter bullshit on reliably resisting Firaga.
Is there any trick to avoiding the petro eyes of the WoTG dragon? No matter how fast I turn or how far I run I seem to be hit by it 95% of the time. For reference I can avoid the doom gaze of Stegotaur just fine, so I don't think it's my connection...
Those gaze effect has different timing in execution.
Taur's mortal ray are one of the easiest thing to dodge due to the delay, dahak's is a lot harder since you pretty much need to anticipate it based on WS animation instead of the log.
I'd say try practicing on Lizards/Cockatrices since that seem to have about the similar speed in timing.
Makes me sad that i have no 'epic' quality solo stories for PUP/NIN... most I've done is take on 4 of the Tough gnole mobs in Jugner [s] simultaneously.. .. .... aggros and links ><
I'll have to go play later.
ok....may i ask how many times you've fought it for long enough that it could not only have a chance to build resistance up, but for you to actually notice? i guess i must have just got either really lucky at the start, or really unlucky after the first 30 mins or so. at the start my slows landed within a few casts in full potency gear, and after an hour or so, i couldn't land it at all, with full skill gear.
and i guess it wasn't really reliable, but i did resist a good portion of them. i want to say i resisted around half or so? i can't be too sure, as it's been awhile, but i definitely resisted a sizable amount of them. also considering i had alittle more than half the resist needed to cap resistance against tiamat, i don't think a 50% resist rate seems too unreasonable, considering suzy is also 5-7 levels lower than tiamat. but then suzy is an entirely different mob, so maybe he just has over 9000 Macc.
Suzaku is a RDM mob, so that might have something to do with that. Though iirc, the effect of resist build is exponential, and you won't get 50% resist rate by having 50% the resist value, probably more along the line of 60-70% resist or more, but I could be wrong.
Sky gods have capped resist rate to debuffs that aren't of their weak element. Your slow is no higher than the ~5% mine is when I tried in full skill gear(which was purely to test, no reason to use any enf skill or staves when trying to debuff sky gods since your stick rate is floored anyway).
Sky gods have capped resist rate to debuffs *UNLESS YOU'RE ON BRD, THEN YOU CHANNEL JESUS BRIEFLY TO PISS OFF THE RDMS AND BE LIKE "FUCK UR REFRESH, AND UR ENFEEBLING, LOL"* that aren't of their weak element.
