Mount as in Lv30?

Man you're missing the best parts of the game, they made the 1-60 grind shorter for a reason. Outland and Northrend are so so so so so much better than anything Azeroth offered, both in gameplay and story.

But I can appreciate that it may not be for everyone...just saying Lv30 is awful early in terms of playtime to give up on it :/

The medium levels may grow a bit tedious sometime, but rested xp helps a ton. You get bored, don't play for a few days, and the next few levels go twice as fast. I had the same thing on my shammy, Rockbitering it up with a 2h axe was stupid boring. Windfury, dual wield, mail, mount etc, it got pretty interesting again in a hurry after that dry spell.

As far as the debate goes for questing addons, the only mod I immediately recommend is Lightheaded (+companions Tomtom and Doublewide). Just gives you the wowhead comments in your new, bigger questlog, and makes the coordinates clickable, to get a Crazy Taxi-esque arrow pointing where to go.

I haven't tried Carbonite or Questhelper myself, since I'm perfectly happy with this, but I think it could help with people afraid of the 'bloat' of those two addons.

Lots of good tips in this thread, especially with AddOns. I decided on a blood elf priest and I'm enjoying it so far (only lv.15 atm). I'm fortunate enough to have some lv.80 friends to take me on an occasional instance and to let me bounce questions off of.

I actually just restarted playing the game. I played about three years ago for a month or two but my pc was kind of shitty so I stopped and kept playing FFXI on my PS2. Just recently got a laptop off a friend of mine that he used exclusively to play WoW. So I of course couldn't use my old copy to start a new account and they were unable to locate any information regarding my old account. So I ended up downloading the trial account and upgraded it to a regular one.

Now I'm on Shue'Halo(sp?) with a few RL friends. So if anyone's on that server and you see a lowly level 6 Night Elf Warrior named Badumshaloop running around, that's me.
