This big magazine just came out today with several interviews and lots of little tid-bits about the game. There's way too much info to tackle over the weekend, but I thought I'd zero in on the Developer interview and get it out there before the festival starts.

Lehko, the male Mithra NPC, charms many of the female Mithra, but what is so special about him in particular?
Of course, Male Mithra are rare on the main continent, but they are also rare in their homeland of Gha Naboh. This is why female Mithra are so interested in his existence. It’s like the female teacher at an all boy’s school. Also, his speech style is soft and comforting, so he is probably quite popular with young girl’s as well.

Please tell me why Alexandrite is limited only to Salvage. Also, will you ever make it obtainable outside of Salvage, like off the Gears in Nyzul Isle?
Alexandrite is an item that originates from Alexander, so it while it wouldn’t be strange to find it in Nyzul Isle, we initially intended it to be limited to Salvage. Nyzul Isle is the only other place in which it may become obtainable.

Nyzule Isle should have alexandrite. Lol.

We’re currently preparing some countermeasures to alleviate crowding at popular events.

That they said "popular events" rather than Nyzul specifically makes me wonder if they plan something for Dynamis and Limbus as well (unless do servers like Odin have crowding issues in Salvage and Einherjar?)

Do you plan to add Relic equipment for Dancer and Scholar?
We certainly do have plans for that. We wish to add it as soon as we can, so please hang on a little longer.

If you defeat the worm before being sucked in, you will obtain the title. Since there is a high probability of being sucked in during the second half of the fight, you need to quickly rush the monster, interrupt any [Doomvoids], and use TP as you accumulate it.

The names of areas such as the Mithran homeland and the Far North have been stated in quests and cutscenes. Will we be able to travel to these places in the future?
I’d like to try that. Unfortunately, there are no plans currently for those places, but I wouldn’t rule it out altogether.

When you clear the quest “Babban Ny Mheillea” and receive the title, Lycopodium will cast Regen onto you as long as you bear that title. Are there any other quests linked to NPCs that produce special effects like this?
Players that complete the Areuhat quest “Beast from the East,” can subsequently trade to a Scouted Areuhat a Shell Bug, and cause her to take flight as Odzmanouk during Campaign Battles.

Amazing what small things they add to this game at times.

There are so many NPCs in Campaign, it can be difficult to target enemies at times. Even pressing F8 will target an NPC, so will there be a better way to target enemies soon?

This has been an issue I have wanted to address since the release of Wings of the Goddess. We’re currently examining whether to solve this through a new gameplay element or editing existing ones. This NPC issue isn’t something we can fix immediately, but will will continue to work towards improving the game system.

Uh? Assist what? Why would you want to target the npc in the first place, f8 is suposed to be the quick "monster target".


Priorities on targetting seriously need to be fixed in many instance, including f8 in campaigns, and other stuff like the pole in Nyzul after you zone up.

Seeing Alexandrite in Nyzul as well would make it infinitely easier to upgrade a mythic weapon. You wouldn't have to do salvage at all, which cuts out having to do assaults other than Nyzul to accumulate AP for salvage permits. Of course, for just these reasons, alexandrite will likely never be available in Nyzul. I suppose some people could just buy their 30k alexandrites instead of slogging through salvage to get them, which will inspire tons of people to buy gil to fund their alexandrites. GG SE.

At least we'll see DNC/SCH group2 in the very near future.

Assist the NPCs.

Chances are if you're struggling to target an enemy it is because all the NPCs are clusterfucked around the mobs. And chances are if a mob and NPC meet, they are fighting. If you cannot target the mob (it's not hard really with a controller), and F8 isn't working for you, you might as well /assist the NPCs who are whacking the mob so you can at least get a target/lock on of the mob the NPCs are fighting, and engage.

You won't be getting that much in nyzul.

And you don't run into them very often. Unless you guys are thinking all mobs would drop them.

Who knows what SE does anymore, they try to stick to a storyline and then for 'convenience' purposes (aka BS that should have been this way from the start) implement whatever the hell they want wherever the hell they want and usually at the last possible minute. If there are still only 1 or 2 mythic weapons on each server come the next 2 years they'll make it easier by doing something non-canonical just like they do with everything that needs to be fixed XD

When you want to target a specific one, this method isn't really efficient. I died a few time trying to sleep an enemy, but was unable to target it until it was too late.

It wouldnt be too bad if the problem was just to engage a target, but situation where your reaction time has to be fast are common, and thing like this are just plain annoying.
