Well, not every question asked by the Japanese player base could possibly be as relevant and poignant to sum up the deepest hopes, wishes, and desires of the entirety of the North American Final Fantasy XI player base as "I like cheese sandwiches, can you put a cheese sandwich in the game?"

What you are saying is the only way for anyone to not have zilart installed is for them to be JP and skipped buying the Zilart Expansion. Not only is that wrong (trial accounts don't get Zilart), but BRP corrected you by saying Zilart is optional. Now you are arguing a completely different point which is no longer your original statement, but now "Who in their right mind wouldn't accept a free expansion?".

No, what I was saying wasn't that it was the only way, I was saying it was the only reasonable way. I never argued the original point because it's fucking stupid. Why would anyone INTENTIONALLY avoid installing it? That's making the argument just to be right. BRP didn't correct me, because I never said it WASN'T optional. He just made the point that someone ridiculously stubborn could not install it, but he never answered why someone would do that, who actually still plays and does that, and how it's relevant to anything I asked him. Well, let's follow this chain of thought.

1. SE has not build expansions(areas) onto other expansions.

2. Rise of the Zilart has no district advantages over any other expansion. It does not come installed. Much like how FFXI has been sold without the newest expansion, it has been sold without Rise of Zilart. This is where you seemed to be caught up. You cannot deny this fact no matter what your argument is. RotZ is an expansion.

3. 1+2 means that SE is just as likely to add expansion areas unique to WotG as they are for Zilart. As current history is the only thing we can rely on, this is actually not likely at all.

You can't say Rise of the Zilart is "kinda... sorta... not a expansion-a", because it is an expansion. Until SE starts adding new expansion areas to old expansions Rise of the Zilart will not see this extension in size. Considering they've never done anything like that or shown any plans to do something like that, it is probably not going to happen any time soon.

You guys were justifying area additions to RotZ expansion areas because "everyone has it." This is why it was important state over and over again that there is nothing special about RotZ compared to other expansions. The fact this argument can go on so long is amazing. Just because you give a point emphasis doesn't mean we did. I believe the phrase is "putting words in my mouth." It was one of many reasons, I'm glad you felt the need to nitpick. What about the very obvious tunnel that I told you about? Oh, that can't be a reason? Cuz you say so? 'k.

ROZ wont be the branching point just because it's the earliest? Fine. It'll be the branching point because it's at the extremity of 3 directions on the map and as such is a very likely link to new areas in those directions.

Even if it's by an insignificant amount, ROZ probably has the largest install base due to its seniority. You can't do anything with just OC, you can at least do something (sky/dynamis and thus relics other than Aegis) with ROZ. Anyone who cares about playing this game as it demands you play it would at least have to get ROZ, and by the time the other expansions came out, Vana'diel collection came out, which forces you to install all 2/3/4. The group of people most likely to want to get TOA or WOG who didn't already have ROZ are those who didn't have the game to begin with, meaning they would gravitate towards the all-in-one collections rather than buying each one individually, which is more expensive. Hell, that's even true for someone who stopped at OC or ROZ, they'd rather buy the all-in-one than each one by itself just for the ease of use.

So, there. Your stupid concept has come full circle.
In all likelihood, ROZ is the most common expansion. You can't dance around this fucker anymore.

Nobody's saying it's not the most common expansion.

They are saying it's not a mandatory expansion , but optional (and by how SE programs the game, after they're done with an expansion they don't go and add new content, for example ZNM system was located only in ToaU rather than in Zilart/CoP areas - same as how ).

You are saying people have to be stupid to not install a free expansion, which has nothing to do with the fact if it's mandatory or optional, it remains an optional expansion to install.

Come on LD, they both have a point. It is the most common expansion to have installed, but you don't have to have it installed for whatever reason. I'd assume the only people to not want to install subsequent expansions would be those kind of people that would like to "complete" a version of the game in it's entirety (whatever they see as "complete", be it to finish all quests/missions for each nation, etc-- seen this before a long time ago before ToAU and CoP), or what have you.
