Wait for it on 4chan. It'll pop up eventually. Or rotten.com / nothingtoxic.com - or whatever else is out there.
Edit: See? lol

thread he made before he did it
I wish ogrish was still around. They had pictures and videos from old / new war footage. Torture n' all that good stuff. There was one set of pictures + video I saw of a dude getting his dong cut off, then being decapitated. They shoved his head on a pole (or a pike or something) and then put his junk in his mouth and walked around with it MIB style. It was brutal. :3
Everyone thought he was trolling until the cops came in. I read the thread, everyone was like 'omfg fuck this shit he's trolling ect' then when they found out he was really dead they were like 'omg he's deadbawbawbawwwww'. Fuck is that shit...
I haven't seen the video, nor transcripts of what happened, but if he really wanted to kill himself he did it, not the people goading him on. He went there looking for reassurance in his idea and whether it was worth it and got it. If he got there and people didn't egg him on, do you seriously think that he'd be better off?
The only way he would be able to change his outlook is through serious, professional counsel, not internet counselors.
In any case, he's dead, just sucks now because media/family are going to use the internet as an example, when they themselves could have done a lot more than "doood dont do it, youll be ok maan" from surfershroomerboy1986 on the #shroomery channel or jackedupIdidntdoroids on bodybuilders.net.
I don't think it's just the internet, nor do i think it's the internet that fosters it. Would i be wrong in saying that popular culture disseminated via the media often glorifies close to violent behaviour towards other people, especially those who aren't part of your social group?
Have you any idea if what you're talking about has any relation to what i'm saying? You're talking about whether if people egging him on or not would have made a difference, and i'm talking about the fact that people were egging him on, and not just that, but that there has been examples of it done in real life too, which i'm also coupling with culture that appears to glorify enmity.
I'm not sure how violence is glorified any more than sex. People freak out over a boob on TV because it's on TV, not because it's a boob. Sex is suggested and insinuated a lot, as is violence.
Besides a few crazy parents, I can't really think of an example where violence is better than sex
The internet is unique in the interactive anonymity it allows. What we're talking about here and related things require action on the part of someone; it's not a passive thing like watching a snuff film or the glorified violence/snuff presented by mainstream media outlets. I can't remember a name or specifics for the life of me, but I'm thinking of studies done where people are more likely to cause pain to others when they are out of sight (if that rings a bell for you, let me know).
I won't deny what popular culture in traditional media does/can do to sensitivities, but real person to person action, I think, is somewhat of a unique beast.
Zzz... Internet had nothing to do with it. http://www.mypicx.com/uploadimg/3723...11202008_1.jpg
His first post--Ask a guy who is going to OD(again? I think he tried once or something..) anything.
Someone asked him why, he said he wanted to die dur. Someone who blames the internet for this is like a parent saying it's a video games fault that their kid plays it too much or some shit.
So our culture is moving towards apathy towards others plights is what you're saying?

How are we to have empathy/sympathy for everyone worldwide who are struggling with depression/anxiety/mypoopwontcomeout disorders?

Do we glorify violence as a male virtue? As in, when we advertise toys and images to boys, are guns part of the picture?
I would say that's pretty accurate. I would also like to chime in again about the acceptance of violence in American media in conjunction with the inability to tolerate any form of sexual innuendo. (Cue Helen Lovejoy "Think of the children!")
I know I've made this argument before, but the way the ESRB rates games seems pretty wacky to me. Killing realistic human beings? Hmm, Teen rating is okay. Blood? Maybe a M. Breasts, smoking, insinuation of drug use, and/or sexual innuendo (not overtly depicted)? Give that a M or AO and JESUS TITTYFUCKING CHRIST Get Sen. Liberman on the phone so he can report on how games are ruining our youth! I guess that's what the legacy of the puritanical 'City Upon a Hill' history will get you.
The PEGI in Europe, on the other hand, takes nearly the opposite approach. The kind of thing that gets labelled "graphic nudity" by the ESRB, like a nipple or bare butt, might warrant the equivalent of a Teen rating by the ESRB, but violence, particularly against realistic human enemies or allies gets rated very highly as a Mature-esque title.
The ESRB, and by extension that mythical set of American Social Values™ which are so ephemeral it confounds this Canadian to understand why they are so enshrined in the American collective psyche, are set in some weird Nevernever Land where violence is par for the course but girls (and by extension sexuality as a whole) are icky and shameful. Other Western societies realize that sexuality is a reality of life and should be embraced, or at least not so shameful as to prefer gory violence over it, and that violence - even in a virtual form - is a dangerous and immature method of problem solving.
Anyway, that was wildly tangential to this discussion of anonymity, but I do find the American passion and acceptance of blood and guts at times worrisome.
It's likely I just haven't seen enough network TV (except for the office) in a few years. Do they actually show that stuff? >.>
I remember it just being a little blood on a shirt, everything else just being understood as to what happened
that study you mentioned I recall reading about as well
