The cell phone wasn't even particularly damaged, and the bullet was in one piece.

This wasn't stopping a bullet coming from a gun with discharge velocity, this was stopping a "falling bullet" that was at probably just over terminal velocity from wind resistance.

A bullet shot directly from a .45 caliber gun would completely fucking decimate that cell phone.

It's still a crazy cool story though.
