I'm no doctor, but last time I checked, if your spinal cord is severed you don't feel a whole hell of a lot. Unless of course this jackass was stupid enough to cut from front to back, meaning the 1/4 it didn't cut through was his spine. In this case he'd die from lack of oxygen.

If you want to die I think getting hit by a train or jumping off a building would be best. Pretty much instant. If you cut your head off like they did using guillotines you are actually still alive in the sense that you can still see(I guess?lol). There is still oxygen left in your brain so you don't die instantly.

I've always heard that this was the case also... that you like for a few seconds still and can see yourself w/o a head. I can't even fathom to imagine what type of thought cycle you go through during those few seconds or however long it is

Best "instant" ways are jumping off building and shooting yourself in the head. The best "painless" way (although since the other 2 are instant they're painless too I'd imagine) is probably the carbon monoxide method. Inhaling tons and tons of it from your car exhaust as you sit in your parked car in a garage. The CO just slowly switches off your brain permanently and you don't feel a thing.

I'm just curious as to why they're immediately treating it as a suicide and not even considering the possiblity that it was murder, to be honest. There must be something not printed in the article that told them it must have been suicide.

Same way they do with self-shootings? Look at the angle the gun was held and the bullet entry/exit wounds? Look at the angle the chainsaw was held and the way he cut into his neck?

He wasnt holding the chainsaw, it was mounted. Not supporting it was murder, but the details given could go either way. Aside, how often are murders set up as suicide? Isnt too hard id think. Have a guy hold a gun to his head like he was going to shoot himself, but have another guy squeeze his finger.

One thing I've always wanted to see someone try:

Get to the top of a building, tie some fishing wire or w/e wire to something on the roof, and then wrap it around your neck so when you jump off the force of the drop (assuming the wire doesn't snap) will sever your head and send it falling down below with your headless body.
