I rarely ever have free time, as my job requires working for more than one outlet regularly to bring in a healthy amount of money (but also enables me to surf the internet). Long car rides in unpopulated areas, generally at nighttime, is usually very relaxing to me.

I find it interesting to see the income distribution of the respondents. It seems like BG members who responded to this survey are either poor university/college students, or are making a decent amount of money in professional jobs. (Seriously Kyo, what did you do to land a $75k/year job at 24??) With only two soldiers representing "blue collar" jobs, I'm kind of surprised to not see anyone working in other vocational pursuits like carpenter, builder, electrician, mason, machinist, etc. And by refering to a military career as "blue collar" I'm just making the distinction between enlisted personnel and commissioned officers.

Oh and for a bit of perspective, in Canada the draw of income taxes is far, far higher than it is in the US. Because of the income bracket I'm in, I lose about 25-30% of my income to taxes. Earners above $100k will lose almost or over 50% of their gross income to federal and provincial taxes. So, maybe tack on 10% to my salary to correspond with the higher taxation rate to equate to US earners. (Of course, I only pay about $80/mo on top of my taxes for very comprehensive health care - only auxilary worker without benefits now

Income is largely irrelevant without knowing where you live and the CoL for that area. I think I seen a stat that $200,000 in Chicago would have about half the purchasing power in New York. I remember a guy in my LS paying over a thousand dollars for a crappy apartment in New York, and I pay a mortgage significantly less than that for a large 3 bedroom house (albeit, I live in the middle of no where, I think our median income is less than $40,000 a year for an entire family).
