Soloing Defuse the Threat (assault)?

I recently dinged 75 rng and have begun putting together end-game gear sets. My first goal was purple pants from mamool assaults which I accomplished by DC'ing 2 characters and soloing The Double Agent quite easily for a nice chunk of points each win.

My next goal is a Sniper's Collar

It is a ??? necklace appraisal from Defuse the Threat. I've beaten this assault before once since I have captain, but I don't necessarily remember it very well. I have read the guides on the wiki's and it appears I only need to diffuse one mine, then simply set all the others off in order to win the assault. I could care less about points, my only concern is a successful win and a chance at the ??? necklace.

For anyone that has had experience with this assault, let me know if this sounds plausible:
blm/whm and at first I take my time trying to defuse one bomb. Once I successfully defuse one bomb I invis up and start running around the entire map setting off the bombs. If I agro a qiqirn through losing invis from bomb dmg I sleep it, deodorize myself to lose hate, and re-invis/continue blowing up mines.

2 Additional Questions:
1.) do I need to stay near the bomb for it to blow up, or can I basically haul ass through a room and as soon as I see the first warning of a bomb move on without waiting around?

2.) if ??? gloves happen to turn into ice gauntlets and I'm smart enough to have them in a loot pool with a mule in my pt is there a chance some random PLD in whitegate would pay for these? If so, how much would you pay?

1.1) dont think deodorize will loss agro >_>;

2.1) yah you need to stay next to it untill it blow up

2.2)with the new lvl sync not much any more :/ , its only good for few lvl's when you lvl up , better just give it up for who ever wan it .... Karma

Only reason I thought deodorize would lose agro is because of a note on otherwiki, but I'll test it out for sure since it seemed a bit odd to me too: "The Qiqirn track by scent. If you get aggro sleep the Qiqirn and deodorize yourself to lose aggro. " Also darn you need to stay by the mine, that stinks, and lastly ya it's funny how karma seems to work in this game lol, I gave a noob a couple NQ staffs one day and finally HQ'd cursed mitts 1/137 and another day helped out a noob win a simple assault and macha's coat dropped. Maybe I'll just be nice =).

As for Apradar, I haven't looked into much, nor do I desire turning this into a morale topic, but I think that is pushing the boundaries of windower usage a bit too far for myself. However, I do appreciate the advice. Thank you!


I'll have a new assault tag tonight at 11pm, so I'll try it after work tomorrow night and post some results.
