    Hard Reset

    What's the best way to do this? I just turn off my router and my modem and then plug back in but I always forget which one to turn back on first causing frustration.

    ( I suck with this type of shit)

    So real quick, which one do I turn back on first to get up and running again, the modem or the router?

    Doesnt matter, but the general rule is to turn on modem first.

    Edit: Pointless comparison: Say you have a water pipe with 2 valves, obviously turning open the valve farthest from the water source wont do anything untill the one closest is. So theres no point in turning on a router first when theres no internet to get.

    But really, as long as your modem/router were made in the past 10 years, it doesnt matter. Either way, youll still have to wait the same exact time for the two to get up to speed.

    Yeah just make sure you do things sequentially and you should be fine.

    As said above, turn off both, I usually wait 10 seconds. Then replug the modem. Once the modem is fully online, plug in the router.
