    Need Gmail Help

My new blackberry updates me with facebook updates based on emails that facebook sends to my gmail. This is all well and good except that I hate cluttering up my inbox with facebook emails. Before I got my blackberry, I had all emails turns off and I can't have the emails sent straight to the trash or they won't register on my phone. Is there a way to have them received and then trashed?

So you want to receive the emails on your phone and put them directly into the trash? What the hell is the point in that, honestly?

If you're using POP it should update even if it's trashed, so having google auto delete won't stop your phone from aggregating the messages from the POP server.

Gmail has filters where you can have received messages marked as read and/or insta-archived. Last I checked (my last smartphone was a Treo 650, so that says something), archived emails do not get pushed through POP.

The Blackberry Facebook app relies on Facebook emails to notify you through the application that you have Facebook updates. I'm interested in the notifications themselves, but not the emails. Therefore, yes, I do ultimately want them put in the trash, but not before the Facebook app can process them.
