Has anyone tried soloing Vulpangue? A SMN or BST perhaps who can easily deal with the TP moves? If so I'd appreciate a method (no matter the job) for future reference.

Borer, ananta, marid, dea, apkallu, wulgaru, probably a bunch more. COR is awesome for soloing these.

cor solo vs anantaboga or brass borer is basically kite + QD? anyone who's soloed either of those 2 mobs as cor pls let me know. /nin i assume and earth staff+earth shot? any meds necessary? i'm looking to kinda farm my way up to tier 3 if i can do it solo, and i'm interested in setups. i do have w leg if that's necessary.

It's just like RDM except you QD instead of bio'ing. Movement+, highest damage QD setup you can get, ele staff etc. Make a macro that swaps gear or just practice swapping quick so QD/PR etc don't pause your movement. /NIN. Same way cor can solo pretty much anything that doesn't run fast, resist QD, or cure itself.

Just curious... otherwiki says Dea has about 40k HP, so I'm wondering what kind of QDs you can expect to get on it unresisted? Even if you have 5 QD recast down merits, you'd have to do over 500 per QD to solo it in less than an hour (unless my math is wrong).

So is it just a really long solo on COR or what? Does it start resisting QD at all when it starts to rage?

Rage just ups it's physical defense/attack/attack speed I believe.

I raged the Dahak on Cor, I was getting almost all 1/8 resist, with a very occasional no resist or partial resist. For reference, it took me however long for it to rage to get it to ~20%, then it took another 3 hours to finish, though I had to box out someone for bio2 (who I let die to a ghost). Other NMs might not take quite so long, but the paeon was countering my damage.

Will sneak this question in here, although not technically a solo.

I'd like to kill Cheese-Hoarded as efficiently as possible and I can box three characters:

Me - RNG/BRD/DRK/WAR
Player Y - RDM/WHM/BST/WAR
Player X - PLD

Would BRD + RDM + PLD work? Figure it will be a slow but safer fight, my BRD has decent melee gear and Evis / Mordant Rime. I had thought about bringing Wulf on RNG, but ranged attacking while boxing is a pain in the ass; WAR crossed my mind as well, but thought elegy might make it just safer.

Yea just use DoTs and run. Probably a good idea to bring a refresh piece and sanction.

wasn't worth dispelling since he'd have 2 songs up, so there'd be a 50% chance of dispelling it, and on top of that he was overwriting his spells anyway. It's a waste of a quickdraw when my only damage was coming from quickdraw. Either way, I switched to killing him on Rdm, and he goes down in less than half an hour like that. When he was raged, my quickdraw damage was pretty much doing as much damage as paeon, and therefore my progress in killing him was from random quickdraws that did more damage than 1/8 resists.

Stop being a hero and just ask me to come RDM so it doesn't take quite as long. If he's anything like the ZNMs I've done, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes(Ob) up to an hour(Lil' Apkallu) and even longer. He's probably on the far side of the scale, 1:30~2:00+ hours.

The 1:30-2: hour sounds about right. (My duo's on it with a MNK chi blasting usually take about an hour.)

/RDM probably. Up until 75% all it uses is a TP move that bypasses shadows, if/when you get hit you'll need a way to heal and not to mention Fast Cast is always nice.

Me and some friends (a COR with decent QD build but no cuisses, a decently EVA'd NIN, a BRD, and a BLM; most have other jobs but no RDMs ;; the listed jobs seem most appropriate to solo and smallman) want to farm Tygers. Could we smallman an entire Tyger pop? I know COR can solo Wulgaru, so there's an easy tier 2. Can the tier 1 skeleton or apkallu be smallmanned or even soloed? Chigre seems too hard without cuisses. And what about the tier 3s? :3
