The only one I've been able to find is over 100 dollars... uh... hoping for something cheaper.

Ive only seen the mad catz one here at gamestop, its like 40-50, lemme see if I can find a link. Nothing on their site, but another being released with street fighter 4, 70 bucks, also madcatz.
While MadCatz stuff generally sucks balls, the SF4 sticks are going to be very nice. They're using Sanwa parts, which are about as good as you can get for sticks/buttons. As for other sticks, you'll want to stick to anything that says Hori and/or Sanwa on it. Otherwise you'll be returning it as broken within a week or two.
Yeah im not a fan of madcatz at all, frankly I generaly try to steer away third party shit besides logitech ushualy, logitech stuff has always done me justice.
Didn't Namco made one for soul calibur 4? or am i dreaming?

Personally, I broke my SC4 Hori after 2 weeks of use. Certain buttons have to literally be smashed in to get any response whatsoever and the stick will start to break at the base after constant use.
After that I decided to pay more and get more. So I got this little guy.

Best one ever, it is around 100$ to 150$ (I know thats not what your price range is) but what you pay is what you get anymore it seems.
edit: For 50$ bucks you can get the single version, and from what I hear it has the same quality and performance ability of the dual tankstick version.

I need a link for the second one
If you're mainly concerned with playing fighter games...that X-arcade joystick isn't really that great.
Concave buttons and non-mushroom joystick are a lot different than for example the SCIV one shown which is the "Standard" style for fighter sticks.
Honestly though you're not going to find a stick worth buying for under $100...if you use it seriously you'll just end up buying several of them anyways.
All the stuff about joysticks you never knew you didn't want to know:

My bosses at GS both got some standard Hori fighting sticks there for about $69-ish. They bought them for the upcoming SFIV and both function well.
This one!

I checked in-store availability and my local GS has one lol.
Any clue on how long the wire is?
Um it's pretty decent, maybe about 9 feet, I remember it went all the way from his TV stand up to his tall ass bed.
I wonder if the SC4 stick can be modded with sanwa parts.... Hmm.... I'll have to find out for whenever BlazBlue comes out >_>;
I got my stick made by Finkle on SRK forums (check the link Darus posted). I used a bunch of the prepacked Hori ones, and while a lot of them were really good (the SC2 one comes to mind), I usually prefer customs. A good stick will cost around 100$ btw.
Here's a pic of my stick btw: click
Yeah, I bought my first custom off SRK as well, and made the other two I made myself after I got comfortable with it.
If you're serious about fighters a good stick is worth it.
I had some commercial ones in the past and they just...break...easy ;(
You came to one of the Barnage tournaments, right? Do you remember Rich's (A Robot Bit Me) old stick where he fashioned the box out of poorly cut, lopsided chunks of wood that he tried to paint green and covered with pictures of the Olson Twins? What a fine piece of engineering.
I'm sure I'd remember it if I ever saw it. I've seen some pretty sorry looking sticks back when I went to a lot of tournaments lol.
